wow, for some reason i thought the Rolling Stone thing was a "Rolling Stones Discography." I always just assumed that and never read any further into the description. It all makes sense now...cover to cover....wow. how could i be so stupid? You learn something new everyday. While i wouldn't make use out of most of the articles, i think its an amazing set and it would be awesome to have a reference like that- kind of a rock encyclopedia.

2 things:

1 the layout was messed up and all pushed to the right

2 it's a freaking christmas list yet the author still still saw fit to rip on fallout boy twice for no reason. I'm not a angry fan or any sort of fan for that matter but i find that comments like that are what start many a flame war

whats with UG sucking up to gibson ? its quite annoying. the robot guitars a waste of money considering how cheap locking tuners are.

$1000 for those Razorbacks? Damn you Yanks, you've got it easy (and cheaper) then the rest us Brits... OK, so we get the amps cheaper than normal, but it still ends out the same way... grr.

Good suggestions. Especially the BYOC pedals. I have played with those Big Stubby picks, and i kinda like em. They are especially good for metal, as they make pinch harmonics easy as heck. Much easier than with regular, flatter picks.

lol i asked for most of that stuff already. those string winders are awesome -- get one!!

As far as coated Strings, I've had the best luck with "Kerly-cues" from Kerly music. (they also have bottles of coatings like "saddle juice" for you to apply yourself according to your liking. But between Elixirs and Kerlycues, there's no comparison. I got 6 months out of my last set with daily playing. The guy who came up with them is a musician and I think a chemist or something himself. We need to support the actual guitarists out there, not the corporations built to simply pry our wallets open!

He wasnt actually ripping Fall Out Boy. He was bagging Pete Wentz. Big difference.

And if he wants to rip into Pete Wentz, he can, cause he's the writer of the article.

Seriously, whats wrong with an article giving props to a company they like? You would do the same if you wrote an article and you had a particular brand of guitar/amp you liked. I know I would.

My present wasn't shown on here, but also that should be on the list...

Digitech GNX4, I'm soo pumped for the 25th just for that one thing.

i think you forgot a few things on this. How bout:

-a gig bag? These are way to good. SO many people get suckered into buying a case (like flying v and bc rich owners) For the "added protection". Just as good and 100 pounds lighter, The gig bag!

-A stand. A home for your guitar! Something by hercules. Maybe, for the beginner, a GS412B?

-And finally, a REAL GUITAR TUNER! Korg, or smthg like that.

Hope to see these added. Great article tho, sent to all my friends!

Merry Christmas!

I'm fairly sure I'll be getting a Crybaby Wah this year. I agree with the guy a few above me, a tuner would be great. I have a terrible little tuner that came with my first electric (it was a squire) and it only tunes to EADGBe

hehe these are some decent suggestions....though I disgaree with a few things. ^^ Razorbacks are sexy though. : D I haven't had a chance to play one yet though. : (

The stocking stuffers was a neat idea. Guitar straps are great. My friend got me a new one haha.

And I think the Fall Out Boy comments are inevitable. I like one or two songs, but I'm not a fan. I don't think that band is that bad... Pete's just overrated in the media to the point that he's just annoying. : |

"you really can’t go wrong with most items that have the words Les Paul or Fender attached" it's this reason why these companies get away with putting out some pretty shitty products. people said the same thing about Marshall, so they got away with making the MG series of amps.

I agree. I have a Roland and a Marshall. The difference? Well the Roland does not sound like a fish factory exploding, or the aftermath thereof.

Those big stubby picks are awesome, i was using one for about 4 months, and then i lost it and i had to go back to playing with regular picks and i just couldn't get stuff right that i could before.
They really are worth that little bit extra cash than normal picks.

Cool list, good choices. But pricey. Oh so pricey.

Ill tell you, its way better than power tab in many respects. Instant play, high-quality sound, the guitars arent badly tuned lol... But its hard to find a metronome. Go with guitarptro. You can always add one.
