Dragonis :
This is actually how I prefer to practice instead of just mindless running up and down scales and all that stuff. Once I have a scale or arpeggio memorized I usually just start to go jam and use it in a real life senario and practice it that way.

Nice article, it was a good read

That's how I like to jam as well. Jamming with other people also helps alot..it teaches you stuff that you can't learn from a backing track. Though the backing track is also a great way to practice.

Nick Layton :
Thanks guys. Yeah, jamming live with other players is great for many reasons. One of the benefits of jamming to a backing track though is that you can just work on very specific things in the privacy of your own practice room. Ideally you'd be able to do both.
Cheers!

TEchnique sucks, method sucks theory sucks create you own style... dont get stuck in muscial convention
an example is the roxck formula

chords as rythmn gutar rif ass lead and it
verse
verse
chorus
verse
vers chorus
guitar solo
chorus

dont get stuck in method tehncique or theory

dont force yourself to practice.. it will be the end of muic is people who do it as a careeer

peace and love
