One time, he was at his mother's house and she was having a party. She was drunk and Kurt couldn't tolerate her. She yelled at him and told him to get out. Kurt was now homeless and lived under a bridge (Something In The Way).

That's not how kurt got kicked out. He got kicked out when his mum caught him having sex...or was beginning to have sex...then he got kicked out. Kurt also MAY never have actually lived under a bridge, claims krist novelselich. You left out alot of other significant things. You sort of cut it off at the end.

Some of your early facts are off, mostly geography of the Pacific Northwest, Kurt was actually born in Aberdeen, and lived much of his life in and around Montesano (a town near Aberdeen that no-one has heard of), and your "...(what a horrible father...)." is totally uncalled for, and it is ill fitting to have such an opinion in a fact based article. Sorry to be so harsh, but over all it is fairly good, if short and choppy.

At this time, Kurt has his first real serious relationship with a girl named Tracy Marander (whom About A Girl is about).

Also, Kurt claims that the song was not about Tracy Marander, even though we all know it is. He wrote the song because Tracy was complaining how Kurt wrote songs about everything except her.

This article is one of the most incorrect articles I've ever read. The part that bothers me the most about this article is that Kurt Cobain didn't like Sub-Pop Records. Kurt claimed the happiest times of his life was touring with other grunge bands signed with Sub-Pop. Though Sub-Pop was constantly in debt so they sold the rights to Nirvana over to Geffen Records for $75,000. One of Kurt's saddest experiences was getting sold to Geffen, he didnt just "decide" to leave.
POSTED: 09/29/2004 - 05:27 pm / quote |
CobainGrrl415 :
. Kurt was now homeless and lived under a bridge (Something In The Way).

Kurt claimjed in interviews he never actually "lived" under a bridge. The bridge made famou by "something in the way" was a place were kurt and his friends would hang out, smoke pot, but it is highly spectulated, by even kurt imself, that he lived under this brige. The ledgenday Young street bridge in Aberdeen is the bridge kurt wrote about in "somethign in the Way", but many of Kurt's friends doubt thathe live under this bridge. Kurt was, however, kicked out of his house and would spend the night on many couches.

I like it.....but not quiet detailed enough, it is a little choppy and you did leave out some major details, that would have made your story a little longer, but a lot more accurate.

I was at a Hastings (book store) and came across a graphic novel detailing every single part of Cobain's life. (For you retards out there, a graphic novel is basically a long comic book.) Also, I have a copy of the Kurt Cobain Journals book, and apparently liked to call himself "Kurdt Kobain".

I knew all of these facts before. I think countless books have been written about Kurdt. That's no offense I just think you can tell anything new.

Pat Smear was a touring guitarist. He would join them on songs that needed a 2nd guitar. I think he got in when they published In Utero but I maybe wrong. He later played with the Foo Fighters but he quit.

Well known doesn't mean correct. If you have ever been to the area you would know, he wasn't born there, he was born in Aberdeen Hospital, about five minutes away from Hoquiam, and he lived quite a while in Montesano (about fifteen minutes drive from Aberdeen) and he did live in Aberdeen, but you left out Montesano completely and I thought I would correct you.

wtf he may have liked touring w/ grunge bands but he hated sub pop because it was a piece of $#!% company with really crappy and primitive technology. they started to scout for other record companies and went to DGC

ANGUS/JIMI_ROCK, Teen Spirit is a spray deodorant, dumbass. He was haning out with a girl named Tobi Vale, and she spray-painted "Kurt Smells Like Teen Spirit" onto a wall. He thought she meant that he would spark a teenage revolution. She just thought that he smeeld like the deodorant. Kurt claimed he'd never even heard of the deodorant until after he'd written the song. Kind of ironic that he DID wind up starting a revolution, huh?

Also, about the article, you left out everything about Buzz Osborne from the Melvins, one of Kurt's biggest influences and how him and Krist met in the first place.

Who wrote this load of crap? I'll give you most all of the "facts" that you dug up---but those "facts" are everywhere and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put them all together---however, it does take some RESEARCH to make sure that everything is factual, which you obviously didn't do. The huge factual error that you made is regarding the "firing" of Chad Channing, which you totally F***ed up....Chad was not "fired" by Kurt Cobain because he wasn't a "good enough drummer", Chad left Nirvana in mutual agreement with Kurt---Kurt wanted a more "studio" oriented drummer (ie; someone who did what he was instructed by Kurt--which Chad would never do, Chad is just as much devoted to the craft of his music as Kurt was)...Chad has a much more improvisational style of drumming than Dave Grohl does---and if you listen to "Bleach", you can hardly argue that he is "not a good drummer".....before you go spouting off "facts", get your facts together--and if it is too much trouble to research for an "article" that you are writing, please do all of us a favor and don't write it. People who were there and know the facts find what you write highly offensive.

I really don't think that Kurt fired Chad Channing because in the booklet that comes with the boxset it has something written by Kurt that said, "Chad is gone, we'll all miss him," He wouldn't miss him if he fired him would he? There were also a lot of other wrong comments.
