***DISCLAIMER***

All warnings and bans are at the mods' discretion - to put it simply: if we don't like it, you can be punished for it, regardless of whether there's a specific rule against that specific offence in our current list of rules. We also reserve the right to close or delete any posts/threads at our discretion. Any punishments listed are the most common punishment given for that offence - other punishments may be given at the mods' discretion. The rules can and will be updated at any time, and any new rules are effective immediately.

*** MAIN RULES ***

NO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
- Each person is only allowed to have one account on UG.
- If you have unknowingly made a multiple account in the past, PM a moderator ASAP and they will most likely ban it for you and allow you to continue using your original account. If we find it ourselves, you will be punished, no excuses.
- If you are aware that a sibling living in the same house as you has a UG account or is planning on making one, PM a moderator with their account name and if we believe you are telling the truth, you will not be punished and you will both be allowed to use your own accounts. If we find their account ourselves, we will assume it is a multiple account and you will be punished.
Punishment: New account receives a Permanent Ban. Original account receives a Ban.

NO SPAM
- This means no meaningless posts, overdone threads or random gibberish.
- If the opening post of a thread is spam, then that thread will be considered a 'spam thread'. Any posts made in a spam thread (other than to notify everyone that the thread has been reported) will be considered spam, regardless of the content of the posts.
- What is deemed appropriate or not is decided by the moderators. Use your common sense or ask a mod before posting if you are unsure.
- Please note that it is a very rare occasion when a comment such as "ok", "wut" or "no" would be considered a valid response to a thread. Please try to expand your thoughts to form a full sentence wherever possible, as posts like these may be considered spam.
Punishment: Decided by the moderator. Your thread may be closed, and you may receive a warning or ban.

NO POSTING IN REPORTED THREADS
- Once a thread has been reported (using the report button underneath the first post of the thread) and someone has posted "*reported*" in the thread, you are no longer allowed to post in it.
- There is a 2-minute window in which people will not be punished for posting that they have reported a thread which has already been reported.
- Posting in a spam thread for any reason other than reporting it is unacceptable and will be considered spam. If a thread has already been reported, just leave it alone and a moderator will get to it ASAP.
Punishment: Decided by the moderator. This usually results in a warning.

NO FLAMING
- Be nice to each other. We will not tolerate excessive name calling or hateful comments directed towards other users, bands, moderators or anyone else.
- This is the Metal Forum, so there are some things you may be able to get away with depending on the situation.

2. I have no problem with swearing. What I do have a problem with is the word 'faggot'. It's pathetic, whenever I see someone use it, I picture some lard-arsed 14 year old yank screaming it at his computer screen because some mexican just one-upped him on his precious WoW. It's not funny, it's only effective on people who give a shit (see: no-one) and it's been ground into the floor more than a hooker's cigarette butts. Also breaking of this rule is a straight ban. Don't say I didn't warn you.

3. Don't be a twat. I know this is a difficult change for some of you as your e-lives revolve around spouting your twattery at unsuspecting 'n00bs', but you'll have to adjust. If some new guy makes a thread, just direct him to the appropriate location and add the reported tag. We were all new guys at one point or another so don't be dicks. Punishment is dependant on the level of twattery displayed.
Punishment: Decided by the moderator. This may include a warning or ban.

NO ADVERTISING
- You may not advertise other forums or tab sites (in your posts/signature/user title/location/etc) or send private messages to other users which contain advertisements or links to such forums or tab sites, unless those users have specifically asked for a link or information.
- You may not advertise other websites on UG (in your posts/signature/user title/location/etc).
- This does not include linking to sites that are relevant to a particular discussion, or linking to your profile on a social networking site.
- If you are considering posting a link to a third party website and you are unsure if it is considered advertising, obtain permission from a moderator BEFORE you post the link.

1. 'ANUS threads'. At first, i'd thought i'd leave them open, I mean, most of their questions seem sensible right? Surely it could lead to some healthy discussion or some mild debate... HAH! What am I thinking, look at the people i'm talking to here, tact is about as existent in this forum's populace as cheese is in a Lactose-Intolerant's cookbook. So **** it, if an 'ANUSite' starts a thread, i'll just close it. If one of said 'ANUSites' doesn't like it, feel free to send me a PM so I can ignore it.

As a warning to any users that are planning to post threads pertaining to Annihilator and their upcoming tour, I figure that letting you know this in advance is only fair:

Posting these threads will result in a permanent ban.

It qualifies as advertising, and as I hope you all know, UG has a strong policy against people carrying out this sort of thing.

To the users that have reported these threads, thank you. It is appreciated.

Punishment: People who have signed up to UG specifically to advertise another site will receive a Permanent Ban. Users who have posted an advertising link in a post/signature/etc will be asked to remove it (you may receive a temporary Ban which will be lifted after you agree to remove the link from your signature/location/user title) and may receive a warning.

NO PORNOGRAPHY
-You will be banned.

NO RACIST/VULGAR/GORE IMAGES OR CONTENT
- You may not post any extremely graphic or violent imagery, links to sites containing such imagery, or express any racist or hateful sentiments anywhere on UG.
- What is deemed appropriate or not is decided by the moderators. Use your common sense or ask a mod before posting if you are unsure.
- Anyone who assists another UGer to find a gore website may be treated the same as someone who links directly to a gore website
-This is the metal forum, so there are art covers for bands that will no doubtedly contain gore images, which is ok by our standards. Just use your common sense on what is right and wrong.
- do not give people instructions to find gore images.
Punishment: Posting any extremely graphic or violent imagery will result in an instant Ban. Hateful/vulgar comments may receive a warning or ban.

NO CONSPIRING TO SPAM OTHER FORUMS/WEBSITES OR SOLICIT ILLEGAL ACTIONS
- You cannot use UG to plan an illegal action or plan the attack/spamming of another forum or website.
- Users who encourage others to undertake attacks on other sites may be treated the same as those who actually partake in the attack.
- This includes the editing of Wikipedia articles to include false information, the spamming of YouTube comment pages, the spamming of guestbooks, and related actions.
Punishment: Decided by the moderator. This will usually entail a ban.

NO HARASSMENT OF OTHER PEOPLE
- You cannot use UG as a vehicle for the harassment of another person or use UG to obtain anyone's email address, website, profile information, instant messenger ID or any other means of communication for the purposes of harrassment. This includes the sending of hateful emails, instant messages, private messages or comments to any UG user or staff member.
Punishment: Decided by the moderator. This may include a warning or ban.

NO COMPUTER HARMING LINKS OR INSTRUCTIONS
- Suggesting instructions to users that may harm their computers is strictly forbidden as well as linking to websites that can damage their system.
Punishment: Decided by the moderator. This will most likely result in a straight ban, and your post or thread will most likely be deleted.

NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT
- You may not share any copyrighted material or assist others in finding such illegal material on the forums or profiles, including copyrighted mp3 files, movie files and pirated software, for any reason. This includes linking people to torrents containing copyrighted material.
- You may not upload copyrighted mp3s to your UG profile.
Punishment: Decided by the moderator. This may include a warning or ban.

Thinking of posting about bands like Trivium, Killswitch Engage, A7X, etc: READ THIS!

-Greetings young newbian. I see your grazed knees have entered the dangerous, frightening place 'The Metal Forum'. Well, onward, I noticed that your eager to post about Trivium or some gay band that your best friend with the black nail polish played too you or you heard on the radio. Well, if so, I'm glad you stepped into this thread. BEHOLD. All the bands listed below are in fact Metalcore, and METALCORE IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE METAL FORUM.

Don't take this as an insult against your favourite bands but the metal forum is already the largest bands and artists subforum, and can't cope with the surge of popularity of metalcore, therefore, metalcore is to be discussed in the less busy Hardcore Forum.

Don't argue with anyone about this or I will take you down. If I see anyone post about a band mentioned on this list, you will recieve a warning. If you continue, I will take you down. ROFL.

Well, enough with the niceities, the Metal Forum can be a fun interesting place if you play your cards right. You might even break into the Underground Black Metal scene overnight and start hating Christians! Whatever appeals to you.

But, my wishes are you do not post about the bands in this thread and if you wish to post about a band like Metallica, CoB or any Thrash Band, please keep it to the Only threads.

Remember, this thread is here to help you out. Some of the more 'veteran' users of this forum will not take kindly to deviation, so please follow this list and do not post about these bands or watch out..I will come down on you like a pile of bricks..or uhh..something heavy.
