Well this is a bit of a different piece I've been working on, it's two acoustic guitars with drums, but it's quite different than most acoustic songs... ;) I was wondering if anyone could hook up some feedback on the style, the progressions and the overall feel of the song, and whether the direction it's going in sounds good or not

If you insist on using RSE, just adjust the volumes accordingly - C4C, of course.

Wow, somehow this sorta works :D. It reminds me a lot of "Uroboric Forms" by Cynic.

There's really nothing negative to say because it's both a solid piece, and there are few noticeable parts that really pop out.

I can't wait to hear the end. Maybe a solo or something. Bass would be nice too in order to fill it out a little bit because it still sounds a little empty.

Great stuff though.
Can you look at my updates for the epic? http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1130180

Pretty good.

Different, I will be honest. But pretty awesome.

I'd love to listen to your epic but at the moment I'm a bit busy playing guitar, so I'll check out another of your tunes and give you a crit, then later on I'll take the time to really go into detail with your epic =). (I rated your wip tab, great song btw =))

Thanks a lot for the comment, I'll work on adding bass and doing an acoustic solo on top of the simple chord part at the end of the current tab.

Can you play this? Because it seems like it would be hard as shit to play. I personally thought it was really good, but too chaotic and cacophonic; I would have preffered a lower tempo and electric guitars instead.

Oh no, I cannot play all of it, in all honesty I am mostly a drummer, I do play and own a guitar but I'm not much of a technician but I love guitars for composing music.

Often I'll fiddle out the melodies and chords onto my guitar and transcribe them onto guitar pro afterwards, but it doesn't mean I can play it cleanly and with all the dynamics I hear in the music.

And yes, it is quite chaotic, and I realize that doesn't always appeal to everyone but in a sense it's what I like about the piece, there's a lot of different melodies and textures going on for very little instruments - it was something I was experimenting with and I think it came out in an interesting way.

Thanks for the comment.

I really, really liked this. It sure was chaotic, but still very harmonious. It was so incredibly dramatic as well. Really good job!

intro - man, i love this...this is so different than anything i've listened to...and its just awesome when the drums kick in..

chorus - the chord progression is really nice, i like the sound of the chords you chose

bar 65 - the part from bar 65 onward is just so sweet, i love it, its a perfect end to this well written song....

this song is so different, it flows so well and when i first read the title, i didnt think it would work that well, but you taught me not to judge a song by its title....lol...its awesome

overall- 8/10

LOL - acoustic metal - it'd take a true metalhead to think of this! xD

And, guess what, it's a very enjoyable piece of music. Guitar harmonies throughout are sick. Combined with your usual "action-packed" drumming, the song transmits this very "chaotic" feeling (damn, it just keeps coming at you relentlessly!) but manages to keep some sort of melody throughout. That is win.

Suggestion - basically what Progbass said, get some acoustic bass and some sort of solo on top, and you're good to go. And, the end was kinda abrupt - was it supposed to be like that?

Overall - how do you make an acoustic midi sound so METAL?

Very different sounding, but I really like it. Needs some bass to fill out the bottom end, but I'm sure you'll get around to it.

The main melody got a little tiresome after a while though, i'll be honest. I liked the chord progressions. Very cool song. I didn't think it would work so well, but you made it happen. Gratz, bro.
