Depends in what genre you want to shred. For example, if you want to play neo-classical shred then you use the harmonic minor scale.

Anyone have 'Perspectives' the album? I've just heard Higher and The End of the Beginning and frankly,this stuff is just pure amazingly orgasmabeautiful! Becker is just getting more and more unbelievable as I find more stuff out about him and especially these songs/masterpieces...just wow...
