Would a Laney TT head sound okay with a GH cab?

I've been looking at Laney amps and heads and was thinking on wether to get a GH head and cab when I can afford it or maybe combine a TT head with a GH cab, I realise that really the GH is meant to go with the GH and TT to the TT but I like the look of the TT head more but the TT cab is a bit expensive where as the GH cab isn't.

Any ideas?

I think Dave_mc has got a Laney cab of some sort together with his Engl, you might want to throw a PM to him

Just too bad about the popups and the .tk domain. And I don't like PHPnuke anyway... I've got webspace, maybe I can sort out a domain.

Another thing: you can't link the forums to the already existing one? Lots of stuff already is on there, it's a waste to start over.

Neat effort, but for the same reasons Resi stated, it isn't as good. All you have to do is search "shreddersunited" on google if you lose the site. It's the first one that appears. :p:

Y'know, yesterday, in Rome TW, i managed to take out 3000 men with an army of 600, losing 400 men in the process. While that wouldn't be shocking if i had elite cavalry and they only had peasants, roughly 1/2 my army was peasants, and what i fought was 3 seperate armys of chariots, heavy cavalry and phalanx style infantry. I know, i know, i rock.

Then the ****ers attacked AGAIN with 2000 men, and i lost. :(

HAHAHAH, funniest thing I've ever seen on youtube -

Overdubbed Yngwie intructional video -

John Petrucci instructional overdubbed by the same guy -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evTTHS9hwvU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MefjovJJr-0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKMYeXkYcgs

I found them absolutely hilarious, especially the Yngwie one "I'm so amazing, check me out little boys"..."I tought god how to play guitar"..."I am so fat"

And for Petrucci "Yeah, I usually play about 5 billion notes per second, but then people die, so I generally keep it around 4000 notes per second"
"And here are my guitars, they were painted my Michael Angelo, not the guitar n00b, but the guy who painted Jesus on the ceiling"

Sorry if you have already seen it, because I haven't been here for a while...but if you haven't... enjoy!

Changing the topic a bit here, but has anyone listened to Whitesnake's 1987 album? Its the one with John Sykes.

IMO 1987 >> Slip of the Tongue

I love Vai's playing, but I just prefer Sykes' playing in Whitesnake. He is a very underated guitarist.

First time I've double posted...I think ever...

Wow,fucking hell is the metal forum ridiculously stupid/scary at times! I was looking at a thread about the funniest things to happen at a metal gig(note use of the word funny, as in fun/easy going). This one user posted briefly about Slipknot and he was eaten by about 5 people with comments such as *Bury yourself* and such. Fuck. We really are lightweight n00b repellers in this here forum! They take absolutely No shit from noone. :haha

HammerForce

Ye, I must say I've noticed that as well, you never really see anyone in the Metal forum repelling people with the skill and wit of say, Resi (not forgetting all the other regular 'n00b pwners' of course). When they do it its always like: 'They aren't metal go and eat your dead mothers feces then shoot yourself in the face you emo sack of ****'. And such like, offensive as that may be I find the shred forum way alot more amusing and entertaining.
**Thinks nostalgically of watching A7xOwns being pwned**

Freepower is by far the most charming, handsome, most brilliant guitar player on UG, in Northern Ireland, Europe, and the planet earth, and I can only dream to be placed within ten feet of him so that his odor of greatness may fill my senses with pure delight. To my deepest chagrin, however, such an event could never take place, because Freepower repels anything less than utter perfection with his completely flawless nature. Be certain, I am not saying this in the futile hopes that he will appease my pathetic desire to be associated with his greatness and place my humble quote in the holiest of holies -- his signature -- no, I only wish to share my praise so that perhaps one day, he will release an album that I can hold in my hands, cradle, and make love to every night, as it would be the only suitable substitution for Freepower himself.

I've got a phaser effect on my amp. It sounds like a quicker flanger with chorus(i think,I haven't used it in ages.)US..

hmm, I thnk that a phaser makes my guitar sound like some sort of laser gun.....(I have one on my uber amazing Line 6) I don't know what t actually does to the sound though. EVH uses one as well (I think whre you can best hear it is in the guitar break in 'Ain't talkin bout love',...

I do not have/have not heard a flanger nor a chorus(been meaning to get a chorus pedal though.....)

So I'm still left in the dark, kinda :(

A phaser uses an analog delay to generate a phase shifted version of the signal. The shift is modulated by an oscillator so the amount of shift changes over time. When the delayed signal is mixed back with the original signal, phase cancellations occur which is referred to in engineering as "comb filtering".

A flanger works the same, only the delay time is much bigger, like chorus. Flanger and chorus are the same thing, except that a flanger uses a feedback loop and chorus doesn't.

HammerForce: you mean the G12T-75? In that case... I wouldn't recommend it. I have a cab with those in, and they sound like fart.

Phasers don't have any delay in them (flangers and choruses however do). They use the properties of capacitors and resistors to put certain frequencies out of phase with themseleves. And you've got that low frequency osciallator hooked up to the thing that shifts the frequency thats being cancelled out (and with the flangers you've got the low frequency osciallator hooked up to the length of the delay). A flanger creates many many more notches in the frequency response than a phaser (where it depends on how many stages the thing has, the MXR Phase 90 has got 6, there are some odd phasers that have got even 20 in there but they still don't sound like flangers)

I've always thought it was a stupid question. Thats my answer whenever people ask that retarded question.

What's the "meaning" of "life"? Well, i dunno, it seems strange to assign a meaning to an indefinate chunk of time that we will all experience. Does a chair have a "meaning"? Why should "life"?

:bash:

I think The Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything turned out to be

"What do you get when you multiply 6 by 7?". Or something similar.

I Personally think time is something humans invented to try and put everything into perpective and there actually is no such thing. Try imagine life without time? Hard to do right? We cant comprehend it otherwise. Maybe not as extreme as that maybe, but something like that.

I just give up after the time subject comes up, cause everything I know is based on time....it just hurts your head to think of the universe and how it was created, anything anyone says is pure speculation, which in my opinion is just a bunch of people sitting around wasting time when they could be playing guitar...like..this forum.

The meaning of life is 42 but we will never know how the all knowing supercomputer calculated it so it has no meaning we can comprehend. And the universe is created by our interpretation of observations. Amen.
