You uploaded an .m3u file, which is a playlist file referring to the actual song, most likely an .mp3 or .wma...
.m3u files are useless for anyone who doesn't have the actual song, which also explains its small filesize.

Well if you have limewire search "mega guitar solo" and download it and if it works then someone else upload it.

hey, i was wondering, im used to metal plecs, but people have been telling me that its really not worth using them because it damages my string so much, is that true? i mean, i'd rather buy new plecs than new strings. Pretty standard and cliché if you ask me... And he's still quite sloppy even with the wristband over neck thing :p:
Only thing that makes it better than all the other youtube clips is the tone.
Also, the main melody sounds like he just switched around some fingerings for Glassgow Kiss after he discovered stringskipping.

Manhattan is great, the only thing that annoys me is how you can't see the sky most places unless you look pretty much straight up. Americans are very friendly people. Here in Switzerland there are so many unfriendly people, and there are many people that will get pissed at you so easilly. The young generation of people in Switzerland are completely nationalistic (don't know if that's the right word...Racist for countries). Because there are so many Yugoslavians that have immigrated here, young swiss people hate pretty much all foreigners, and both the Yugoslavians and Swiss people hate Americans, and anyone that speaks any form of English is automatically thought of as Americans.
Sorry I drifted off a little there:p:.

^Oh yeah I do hope you knew what I meant by that statement. My opinion of Americans(the people not the politicians,I.E the ones you never hear or see) , changed hugely. Almost everybody has so much time for you there, like total strangers spent 15 minutes of their time with us helping with something stupid like a ****ed up metro machine. I'm seriously contemplating living their when I'm older.

Well...Just back from the land of the free, home of the brave yada yada. New York, manhattan to be exact. Amazing, unreal, brilliant, everything I expected and more! 99% of people I came across were so nice and really helpful and everything is so ****ing cheap! Bravo lads. Good show. :)
The real estate there is so ridiculous though. :( You should try the West Coast of Amerikka one day, specifically California(I live there :D). I've never been to New York though, farthest East I've ever been has been Georgia. But when I'm older I definitely want to go around Europe and see a good majority of the countries there. But thing is about 60% of the people I seen in the U.S. they're totally ignorant. Think that the world revolves around them, think everywhere but the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan are the only civilized places. Pisses me off a lot too.

Creative Guitar 1 & 2 by Guthrie Govan (i think)
i've heard that that creative guitar 2 is awesome, but apperently it's kind of hard to find. They're for advanced guitarists. Im not sure how to define that better, id say someone whose been playing at least a year and has accomplished some pretty difficult songs. 8 finger tapping is covered in it.

Get this. The other day, i had been banned from one of the other forums i visit, for a game called Mount&Blade, which i am more than slightly fond of, and currently modding for.
http://forums.taleworlds.net/index.php/topic,21374.msg464379.html
Check this, i make a post pointing out (perhaps in a humorous manner, who knows?) that as the game has "******s" and "chinks", at the exclusion of "fatties", it is being deliberately fattist and cruel, and I get that message left for me.
Anyway, there's this other board dedicated to modding the game, called MBX. So i head over there (as almost everyone on MBX is on the original forum) and i ask (in a completely humble, and polite manner) - why was i banned? Is there something i said or did wrong? Also, if my account details aren't safe and someone's been posting some serious lemonpartyage, i'd like to know so i can change my passwords on all my other stuff, thanks very much.
So, i come back later to check out if there's some kind of explanation or misunderstanding, and find out i was banned for racism (using the terms "******" and "chink"). Course, i find out that i was banned via receiving this message -
Sorry freepower, you are banned from using this forum!
Racism is bad. This is a multicultural board and mutual respect is important.
So, basically, to see if there are any reasonable people about, i go and see if ANYBODY, ANYBODY thought of asking me nicely not to use certain words, or perhaps had heard of sarcasm, irony, or humor - and get this.
They've actually deleted the WHOLE SUBFORUM where i made my request to ask why i was banned from another forum.
Imagine being permabanned from UG, and then the whole shred forum deleted, because i said the n-word here.
Considering i wasn't being racist, wasn't acting racist, and was obviously joking in using racist terms, let alone the fact that i'm not a racist (as my "chink" friend Gabriel will attest to)... i think this is a little OTT.

Studio, Satriani, and my middle name
Howdy strangers,
We all had a blast Sunday at Dan's studio. We recorded Lisa Marie (the Rock Star Cowgirl), and a phenomenal tabla player named Salar. He played on the ten minute Indian song tentatively called Electric Prayer For Peace. Lisa sang some oohs for the other new song. Dan, Dave D., Marilyn, Arpita (my newest caregiver), Dave L., Melissa, Lisa and her fiance Mikey, had a good time. Thanks so much guys.
There were workers pounding on the wall outside and jackhammering occasionally, which would shake the whole room. Dan had to go show them who was boss.
I am really stoked. The great Joe Satriani is going to play on my Indian Song. I can't wait to hear what he does. I love his stuff. Huge thanks to you, Joe.
I also got Greg Howe's solo. He sucks, man. Heh-heh. I love it. You guys will too.
I can't wait to hear Marty Friedman's solo. Marty, you are just the man. Without you I would suck.
Steve Hunter, I want to ask your solo's hand in marriage. Can I call you Papa?
Firkins and Lopez, you guys are too awesome and inspiring to me.
One of my favorite players, Uli Roth, asked me to do some kind of class at his Sky Guitar Academy Seminar. Man, what an honor. I will keep you posted.
For those of you who don't know: the second video on this page is called "End of the Beginning" from my CD Perspective. It will also be on my new CD called "Jason Becker Collection". The video features the guitarist Michael Lee Firkins and Michael Morgan and the Oakland Symphony Orchestra.
Thanks again everyone for writing to those shows. It means alot that you thought of it, Rod. Another show that would be cool is the Ellen Degeneres Show. I totally respect Oprah and Ellen.
Peace and love to y'all,
Jason Eli (my middle name is Eli. I was named after the great actor Eli Wallach, the guy who played Tuco in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Man, my parents named me after the Ugly. I love it.)

Slightly odd and borderline off-topic question but I figured it wasn't worth making a thread about - I remember seeing a picture a few months back called Guitar Legends or something along those lines, had loads of famous guitarists all posing together in a huddle with their sig guitars, with a white background. I quite fancy it as a desktop wallpaper but I can't find the damn thing.
I know it had Zakk Wylde in along with an assortment of other guitarists (Tom Morello I believe was one). Any have it, or a link to it?

A Marshall stack, p.a system, a 100 watt peavey speaker, guitar bodies, necks and accessories, a Peavey 212 is all that comes to mind now. The guy actually came back for the Marshall, which is why i was given that Peavey. I didn't like the tone i got out of it anyway. I live in the town in which Peavey originates. My dad designed a few of the factories here. At 3:00 P.M everyday, the guitar production factory shuts down. I run by there often and look into the dumpsters and find nearly perfect bodies and necks. They are thrown out due to fallicies in the wood, but they are easily fixed. :)

Why do people always get pumped for this kind of movie?
Am I the only one who'd rather see one of the many independent movies there are out there than this stuff that's just rehashed over and over with new effects?

Well I dunno why youd watch a movie just because its independent. You should watch a movie for content, not because of how good the effects are, or if its independent or not. This movie is quite different than other "mainstream" movies, because its wonderfully directed and produced, the story is actually interesting, and the onscreen action is extremely beautiful. The effects are needed in this kind of film, as it gives it that extra touch, and you are more easily mesmerized by the film, rather than trying to forget the string that is holding up a UFO on the screen, or trying to ignore the zipper behind the actor's suit.

Well obviously :p: I just mean it usually goes together - i.e. Hollywood - superficial shit, independant - deep, good stuff.
Besides, I like supporting local artists.

No no, give me some examples of big movies you feel are equal to this one in terms of quality.

I like a lot of both. :)
Independant film makers aren't bound by the huge pressure of such a large budget and having to guarentee it to be such a success that it'll at least have to make x amount of millions. Thats where he's coming from insideac. ;)

Theres not that many actually, since most are full of overused actors, cliched dialogue, and pointless effects. This movie mixes CG and live action in a way that you cant really call it live action, or CG, because they are mixed so well. The actor's helmets and shields, for example, are CG, while the actors are not. A few movies I think are almost the same as this movie, in terms of quality and such, are Spiderman 1 and 2, Butterfly Effect, Troy, The Last Samurai, and Catwoman (:haha, kidding).
THe Last Samurai is just like this one ,because it invokes feelings that you dont normally feel in standard movies, and both movies let you really get to know the characters, and its really emotional. I find that the best movies are the ones where the main characters or the good guys lose/die, since it breaks away from tradition
EDIT: There are other movies that are better examples, but I cant think of any right now :P

The trailer I watched looked like shit.
^ Probably cause a lot of the dialogue shown in those trailers are like this
"WILD PARTY"
"SPAARRRTTAAAA"
"WAARRRRR"
"HAARRUUUHH"
The movie is seriously lacking in dialogue (though there are some very witty lines in there that manage to lighten the mood) but it makes up for it in sweet beautiful action.
Why do people always get pumped for this kind of movie?
Because the developers payed millions of dollars in advertising campaigns on myspace 0_o

:haha Well no, I mean like at the end (its been like 34324 years, im not spoiling anything), everyone that you get to know throughout the movie dies and stuff, and the way its portrayed is pretty sad. That, and Requiem for a Dream, and all thoser other kinds of movies are pretty sweet me thinks, because you get to know the characters, and it doesnt always have a happy ending.

Meeting Stephen Hawking
Hey Folks,
Last night I went to see Stephen Hawking, the genius quantum physicist who has ALS. My friend Bob got tickets even though it was sold out long ago. Bob, Rebecca, my pops, Serrana, Dave D. and Dan saw the lecture with me. It was at Zellarbach Auditorium on the Cal Berkeley Campus. About seven years ago the Diablo Ballet did a performance with an orchestra playing "End of the Beginning" at that same place.
Before the lecture a writer from the SF Chronicle asked me some questions. He was really sweet even though he hadn't known who I was.
Hawking was great. He had pre-written his speech and had it spoken from his computer. I may not necessarily agree with all of his theories (Hell, I don't even understand many of them), but it is so beautiful when a genius speaks. His words and his presence get people thinking and talking about deep stuff. He was also making hilarious jokes.
After the show Dave got us all to the back of the place where they were expecting to meet me later. I wanted to give Hawking my CD's Perspective, and Perpetual Burn, plus a letter I wrote to him. Among other things I told him I loved him in the Simpsons, Futurama and Star Trek.
Actually the main reason I wanted to meet him was I wanted to show him how I communicate. He has a great system with his computer for lectures and stuff like that, but it is so cumbersome and slow for regular conversation. His friends ask him questions and a few minutes later he answers them, but by then, they forgot what he is answering. It must be so frustrating for the modern day Einstein. Also, what if the power goes off for a long period of time?
When Dave told Stephen's caregiver about my communication system, he was intrigued by the speed of it. It might not work for him though because Stephen's eyes might not be strong enough. Man, I hope they are. Of all people, Hawking needs to communicate faster than most people on earth. His words are precious.
We waited outside for him while he ate dinner. When he came out I said, "it is such an honor to meet you." Almost a minute later he said, "nice to meet you too." He took my little package and I got out of his hair. What a thrill. I was hoping he wouldn't test me on physics. I would have challenged him to a thumb wrestle but I heard he had lost a lot of hand movement. Sad. He has had ALS for 45 years, give or take. Awesome. Thank you, everyone who made that happen.
I am really sorry about all the spam. That crap is hell of annoying. This space is about the love, baby, not bullshit ads. I usually don't mind a little band stuff but it is mainly for my brothers and sisters. Let's just have fun, thoughts, feelings, stories, insights; you know, love, man.
Sorry about the last blog about the ashram. It was mistakenly put there by a caregiver. It happened back in November.
Peace and love,
Jason
