Then why are you asking? lol.
(Sorry I haven't played that particular pedal, most multi-fx pedals are too much for me too handle ;) )

I have it, it's pretty good.
Everything is very customizable.
You've got a wah pedal, flange, phaser, vibrato, tremelo, reverbs, delays, all kinds of neat shit.
It's REALLY good for recording direct, you get a nice clean sound, and it's not real noisy.
But you do get some noise if you max the output into your amp, and have 2 distortions running.
My favorite things on it are the Energize, it really fattens up your sound, and the Turbo & edge buttons, they add some more 'oomph' .
It's built like a TANK too, I've stepped all over mine, dropped it and all kinds of crap, still works as good as the first day I got it, had it over a year and a half now.
I haven't even stcratched it yet.
I'd recommend getting a power supply instead of batteris, though.

i was never too fond of zoom multi-effects pedals....i just can't seem to stomach the revolting shrill sound that exudes from them.
if you want a decent multi-effects processor, go with either boss or korg toneworks. korgs are extremely nice at a VERY reasonable price.

ya i should elaborate............i have a gfx 5 and i hate it. i play alot of metal and evrytime im palmuting on the lower strings, theres this really annoying boomy and bassy sound that i hate. also if i put too much energize on it with distortion, all i get is mud. But the modulation effects are alright and the wahs fun to play with. it also takes alot of tweaking to get the sound that u want though. the only thing i use it 4 now is the drum machineand sometimes the wah. I HIGHLY recommend that u DO NOT purchase this product.!!!
ill be trading my gfx5 in 4 a wah and a distortion pedal so ya......get like a rp80 or sumthing if ur new 2 effects, just not this.........

Its a great multi-effects pedal. I had a Digitech before this. but that was loaded with too much useless crap. Almost every effect on Zoom is great for using as it is.
yes, it does get noisy if you crank up everything to max. if you are doing that, then that means you are not satisfied with the distortion, that means your pickups are not good enough. i have a $350 Ibanez RG350DX with the Pups close to the strings like 1.5 mm from the strings and I can get death-metal type distortion with the gain 3/4ths using the stock pups.
Dont try to play like Metallica with a Squier with 5K output single coils and blame it on Zoom. Try playing like Metallica on a humbucker with 16 + K Ohms o/p pup and see how the pedal lives up to it.
I've had a MT-2, before this too and this one Rocks. Its got enough Dist to play Black metal/ Death Metal.

^^make your own thread. and you just wasted your money
and as for the thread starter, i had a 707II before. i think the only difference between the gfx-5 and the 707II is the footswitch. now for the sounds, 707II sounds are pretty much crap. the metal dist sucks. dist are all sucks. so i really doubt that the gfx-5 would be any difference..

I use to have a Zoom 606 with a Marshall MG 10 Watter. I thought it sounded great. Then I tried out a Laney VC30, and realised it was ****.
