It shouldn't. The only thing that would really change is a possible p/u diffrerence.

The main thing people always forget. The Jap. ESP sigs of Alexi and Roope are CUSTOM SHOP GUITARS. Meaning, hand made, custom shop, yadayada. It's more or less like getting a 4-5k guitar for less. The quallity is outstanding.

I would pay the 3k to get an ESP RV 398-AL....if I had an extra 3k lying 'round :(

I used to frown upon ESP because they are way overpriced but after playing a custom made one my guitar tech was working on, I have to say they are choice. I almost wish I had not bought my custom Jackson and went with a custom ESP. Even though almost same set up would cost me about $4500 instead of the $2500 I paid. A few posts back, someone mentioned something about Jackson. So I just gotta ask, what do you guys think of new Jacksons, seeing as to how they're owned by Fender and everything. I haven't played a Jackson that was made pre-Fender, but everyone tells me the vintage ones are better. To be honest, wouldn't them being bought by Fender make them better? Because now they would have money to spend on R&D and stuff. But also supposedly Fender replaced Jackson's workers, so now it's people from Fender making all the stuff, which would suuuuuuuuck! IMO.

I have a new Jackson (as seen in my sig), and it's damn sweet. I should point out that A) it's my first good guitar, and B) I haven't directly compared it against an old Jackson, so I'm not the best guide ever, but I can tell you that I get absolutely killer tone out of it, and superb cleans. It just seems to handle anything I throw at it. The only concerns are that heavy locking trem abuse makes it want retuning, and I did once have to re-tighten the input jack. But in terms of tone, it's superb (I play metal of all types, as well as hard rock and grunge).

Edwards are a step up from LTD's. i've played both an Edwards Laiho model and an LTD one and the Edwards played so much better, it felt smoother and better made. its a shame though i played the Edwards Laiho model before i even knew who Alexi Laiho was :p:

Also, I recently got a chance to play a mid-80's custom shop Rhoads...Zo My Gawd. It was like...perma orgasm until I put it down. I've played recent Jacksons (non CS mind you) and nothing has compared to it. I would really like to play a recent CS Jackson so I can try to feel the difference.

Right now though, I'm saving for an Edwards AL. Kind of hard though, since I want a new amp lawl.

One thing I hate, it seems that the USA ESP is kind of only has cool metal guitars in the sig series. Or like...the LTD...

Since you can't get a number of the cool metal styles in USA, and the cooler ones are only LTD...stinker roonies for sure :(

I've been listening to AYDY a lot recently, respecting it more and more as an album. I think that a mix of the new stuff and old stuff (hopefylly in the new album) would be the best evar! The more aggression of the newer stuff, with the control and musicianship of the older stuff.

I'm talking about his Jackson. AFAIK RR never had a Black guitar w/ yellow bevels and gold hardware.

And...honestly, it really doesn't matter. EVER SINGLE GUITAR is more or less a copy of someone/some other guitar. Just trying to make it your own through look and the actual music you play.

How is it that the people who buy guitars that weren't designed 50 years ago the ones who are unoriginal. All I have to say is in hundreds of years, what's the likely hood that people will even give a damn about the kind of guitar alexi used, I mean ****, does paganini have a sig line of violins?(not to compare alexi to paganini musically, alexi is good, but he's no paganini)

they're not "weaker" they're just lower in volume in the mix, kind of like how some Black Metal bands have their vocals. Alexi listens to black metal so i suppose he was trying to get that kind of sound.
