That's an exceptionally unsexy pic of it, sadly. The pics on eBay are better, but there wasn't a black one up there, just the white. But is, it is teh smex :D

And I'm not using it cuz Alexi does (although he did spark my interest int eh shape), I'm using it because it looks badass and it has pretty much unimpeded access to the 24th fret. I hate guitars with cutaways now because my pinkie always hits it... Also, I'm probably gonna swap out the EMGs for DiMarzio D-Activators, then sell the EMGs with the battery compartment and all, then put a block of wood where the compartment was to increase tone and sustain.

I totally love Bodom, one of my favorite metal bands ever, amazing solos, Alexi's voice fits just great (except something wild - the vocals there are weird :P), great keyboards, a great and addictive band in short...

I'd say that Hatebreeder and Hate Crew Deathroll are their best albums, Follow the Reaper is good too, but it sounds like a more mature extension of Hatebreeder. - has great songs anyway (Everytime I Die, Kissing the Shadows...)

I love the inlays and the gold hardware on this one, but if I do get it, I might do what Silenoz from Dimmu Borgir did and put black tape over the stripes to cover them up. Sorry, but I can't find any pics of them, and the jackass that used to be my band's other guitarist has my issue of Guitar World where I saw it...

In addition, I think it will be a much simpler process to swap out the pickups in one of the Alexi guitars because they're passive, and I won't have to dea with sticking a wood block where the battery was... And I figure I've got a neck pickup on my Kramer, and I plan using it's neck to build a totally new guitar with two humbuckers, so I can use it when I need a neck pickup I suppose...

Yes, those knobs are the same color. It's actuall a very bad pic of the guitar. I'll check eBay in a sec and try to find a better one.

And yes, I'm getting one :D A "Graduation from homeschooling present" from mom. By the way, when I eventually get a custom shop model, the arrowhead inlays are MANDITORY. That (and the gold hardware) is the reason I'm thining about that one.

Well, I was going for that one for that very reason, but the dot inlays piss me off. Plus I don't really use the neck pickup that much.. and I'm gonna be practically building my own Kramer Pacer Imperial at some point I can use for when I need a neck pickup. But then again, I do kinda want to try fiddling with a neck pickup at some point in the near future for soloing and cleans... But I don't wanna deal with the big electronics job that switching from actives to passives will involve...

Wow finally had a chance to watch 'Stockholm Knockout" last night, damn thats a good DVD the show was awesome, pitty they wern't quite that good when i say them, but that was partly the croud.

Second time though, they where supporting Lamb of God on an Unholy Alliance off tour date. Still kicked ass, but not as much crowd interaction. LoG was amazing though, super live band.

I didn't see them on TUA, they did an off tour show. LoG heading, CoB supporting, Thine Eyes Bleed / Horse Called War (our local band) opening.

LoG was really cool though, Randy made the crowd clap for all the bands and stuff...seem like top notch dudes.

But yeah, the CoB header had maybe 60-70 people? Around. The LoG had at least double that haha.

Both great shows though, and honestly I *liked* the CoB header more, just because it was Through the Eyes of the Dead / God Forbid / CoB but the LoG one was great as well.

What do you dudes think about 'tie my rope'. I'm really not sure, obviously it's closer to AYDY than anything like something wild but i can't make my mind up about it. I wish they would go more towards their roots but the song is pretty good in it's own right. Pretty good hooks and a couple good riffs, pretty good teaser of the new album. I just hope the new album has a bit better stuff than this.

So can anyone recommend a few tracks - say three - in which Alexi's neoclassical influences really, really show through? If at least one of them is based around the harmonic minor scale, that'd be perfection...oh, and I'm going to need a few examples of scores, so it'd also be great if the solos in question had a PowerTab available on UG.

Massive thanks to anyone that can help - of course, if anyone wants to recommend any other neoclassical guitarists or pieces (again, especially harmonic minor based) that'd be much appreciated.

I know you didn't mention him, but Joe Stump would be a great example for this. He is heavily influenced by Yngwie and Blackmore, plus he is great himself.

Tie My Rope was ok, I still don't like the mix of it, and hope that the new CD isn't mixed that way.

One of the reasons CoB kind of stood out, the guitars and bass really sat well in the mix, yet still in your face and aggressive. TMR like...all the instruments seem too in the back.

Either way, I'll buy it...

OMG, I NEED A NEW ALBUM . I'm not ever bored of all there other songs, I just need more!!! more more!!!! C.o.B is serious addiction.

They are so beyond any modern rock or emo or anything more mainstream. They have like 20 different musical ideas per song that could be turned into a full length song by other bands that aren't so devoted to there music. Black Widow, if each riff was taken apart and used as a the main riff, it could be like 8 different punk songs. Provided the guitarist for the hypothetical punk band could play the riff.

Black Widow is one example. It's not the only song that could do that. And I actually didnt know that Black Widow had a Mozart piece in it, more C.o.B trivia! Wrath Within is another song that could be made into numerous simpler songs.

I'm bored. So here's some trivia.
Red Light in My Eyes Part 1 contains Bach's Invention No. 13 in the intro.
Red Light in My Eyes Part 2 contains Mozart's 25th symphony in the intro. About 30 seconds in, they then use Mozart's Requiem Mass in D Minor, movement Confutatis.
The harmony at about 3:30 into Black Widow appears again in We're Not Gonna Fall (I think it's that song).
Speaking of Black Widow, the Mozart piece is the chorus.
Next to Something Wild, Follow the Reaper is Alexi's least favorite Children of Bodom album.
Kissing the Shadows was written to fill up time on Follow the Reaper.
Alexi despises the chorus to Kissing the Shadows because it "sounds like Rhapsody."
The reason why Janne has a hood up and sun glasses during the Deadnight Warrior video is because he was originally going to be only a session keyboardist.
