What I usually do is I write the chord progression. If the chord progression sounds amazing as is, then I work off of it. After that, that's when I throw in the keyboard melodies. Then comes the guitars that are probably second inversion most of the time. Then finally the guitar melodies.

Yeah from what I heard in those songs, it would be pretty hard to find songs as good or, better even. If I can add tho, I'm really maniac about the heavyness, but as long as it's melodic. Such as, a riff that stays in your head for days(for example, the lead intro in Lake Bodom).

EDIT: I have this song too called Anathema Angelica(probly spelled ANTHEMA Angelica in reality), and it's a slow song. I doubt this is from CoB, as the singer's voice sounds different, and I couldn't find any tabs for it. Anyone knows if it's really from CoB, and if it's not, what band is it from?

I don't agree with you on this one. Have you seen Kissing the Shadows lives? Because if you have, then you would know that Alexi plays the lead in the chorus while singing. As far as who's better - Alexi or Roope - it's hands down Alexi IMO. Roope is very technically good, but his phrasing is very bland. Alexi's is actually interesting compared to Roope.
