Nuuuu :( You don't get over Bodom! My frikkin friend thinks he's getting burnt out on them.. Although last night we DID play every one of thier albums that I have (Hatebreeder through AYDY) in one night....
Just stop listening for a while. Bring yourself to other music, then late one night you'll be bored...searching your music, find some Bodom and think. "Damn! I haven't listened to them in a while!" and put it on. Boom, insta fandom again.
Sorry guys...But I think I am getting burnt out on Bodom. I popped in Hatecrew after 3 months of no Bodom and I was only able to listen to it 3 times.

Actually...Scratch that. I've fallen back in love with Inearthed, so technically I'm not burnt out on Bodom. Plus I've been listening to Sinergy a lot lately. So I guess I'm still an Alexi fan, just not so much a Bodom fan.

I have the same problem, I was getting burnt out on bodom. Just shelf it for a month, then put it in again and play what you know by them on guitar as well. For me it was a huge refresher on how ****ing amazing bodom is.

Agreed. I loved Something Wild for the Neoclassical flare. But if you took out everything that Bodom took from the classical composers, then the whole record would be like 10 minutes. Ok, so I'm exaggerating, but still...I guess I've "moved on" from Bodom to Sinergy and Inearthed. Still Alexi, just not Bodom.

Pre fender Jacksons are the best my neighbor got a Rhoads V for $500 (au) pre fender, then sold it after jackson was bought out for around 1500(au)

I watched some old Sinergy vids, pre Wildchild sticker on Alexi's black and yellow Jackson, and I watched Roope and Alexi playing Summer Presto. I REALLY want a custom Rhoads V now. :( What sucks though is you gotta wait 1-2 years and they're waaaaaay over priced. I think Jackson should start making more non-pick guard, 24 fret, neck-thru, floyd equipped, 2 pick up Rhoads Vs. Their Rhoads line are the only guitars that they produce that don't have 24 frets. I guess they're trying to keep it true to what Randy originally designed? I mean, if he wanted 24, he would have asked for 24.

Jackson's CS is one of the worst for putting out stuff in a timely fashion. Costs an arm and a leg too...

I really like Jackson, and I love ESP's artist signatures, all of their V's, and the CS stuff. Everything else is kind of meh in my omgmeter.

Personally I like ESP rhoads over Jacksons just because the body is bigger and the treble cutout for better fret access just makes it an overall more comfortable guitar to me. I still love Jackson Rhoads though.

TOTALLY agreed. I liked all the ESP's I've played, but I still love Jacksons a little bit more. I'd kill to get my hands on an ESP LTD MMV though. Those things look amazing.

That's like saying you laugh at anyone that owns lower end models of ANY guitar company...

A lot of LTD's are great guitars. Check out the LTD Alexi for example, alder body, maple neck through, ebony fretboard, 24 frets, OFR.

That sounds like quality to me.

I own a Schecter and LTD... my LTD is pretty sweet dude. It's the MH-250NT, and yeah, the ESP's are better, and also twice the price, but it's not like a got a grand or two just burnin' a hole in my pocket... plus, it goes for what $600-$700? When ya consider I picked it up for $250 w/case, ya gotta admit that that is a pretty sweet deal. Especially when you consider the fact that hard shells are about $100 alone and both were mint when I got 'em. I've played a few ESPs and it's pretty much just as good, but I paid 1/4 of the price. A friend of mine had an alpine white ESP "Les Paul" and my LTD played and felt better than that.

I'd say that the quality of LTD comapred to ESP is a lot smaller of a margin than say Epiphone to Gibson, Squier to Fender or any of the other companies branches. Epiphones don't feel right at all and I don't even need to explain Squier... but another friend of mine had a 20th Anniversay Squier and it was the best playing Strat I have ever played- Honest To God man. The guy that owned it worked at Guitar Center for three years. I was talkin' **** about the Squier in the corner of his room and he handed it to me and said, "Play it. It's the best playing Strat I've ever played." and I'll be damned if he wasn't right!

My Schecter is a bass by the way, and I've NEVER played a good Jackson bass, and it's easier to get a good looking, quality Schecter bass than Ibanez.

I said that some Ltd.s are good guitars...I was simply stating how I found it funny that ESP feels the need to announce in large letters IMPORTED: NOT ACTUAL ESP on all Ltds. Not something I'd want on my guitar. Perhaps I'm just shallow but I consider the appearance of my guitar pretty important.

was pretty average, i have played some nice esp's though but i ust prefer jackson.
the only annoying thing is as you said that they are 22 frets.

I make about a buck more than minimum wage and saving up for a high end guitar really takes a long time and some self control. "Yes! I have money! I can buy that CD now! Actually...Alexi has been doing this for some time now. He used some Inearthed stuff in other projects. First the "Tss...Ahh!" was an outro to the first Inearthed Demo, which Alexi later used in the W.A.S.P. cover of Hellion. From the next Demo, Ubiquitous Absence of Remission, Alexi used the chorus in "Translucent Image" as the chorus to Sinergy's "Beware the Heavens." From the demo "Shining," Alexi used the acoustic piece from "Homeland II" as the intro to Towards Dead End. Some of the stuff that he used in the song "Talking of the Trees" resurfaced in Mask of Sanity. The main guitar part for "Vision of Eternal Sorrow" was used in the Impaled Nazarene song "Cogito Ergo". A part of "Black Widow" was also used in "We're not Gonna Fall."

He's also obviously used other artist's material as well. Anyone else notice that a piece of "Bodom After Midnight" is actually from "The Rock?"

But it's not just Alexi. Janne Wirmin does it too. Listen to Stratovarius's "Know the Difference" and then listen to Warmen's "Unknown Soldier." Janne's keyboard patches were influenced by Stratovarius's keyboard player's patches.

I really hate Alexi now. Alexi and Roope. Those Sinergy videos and that cover of Summer Presto they did made me want a Jackson. I think I'm back to wanting a Jackson Stars RR-J2E :(. I'd love to have an ESP SV, but they cost a little less than a CS Jackson. I'd love to have an Edwards SV, but I've heard that they don't have much sustain. :( I need help!!!

Well...some sad news from myself today.

This evening at 8:25 pm, I lost my grandfather.

It was extremely sudden, and I'm still kind of in shock. He hurt himself by falling down about four weeks ago and ended up in the hospital, he was doing fine and then we come to find out he had emphysema. This is how my grandmother, his wife, died...

He was still acting ok, even though he couldn't breathe very well he still had his spirit and could speak and write and was completely coherent. Until this morning.

Stupid me stayed up all night, and then at about 9:30 am my mother got a call from my uncle telling her how bad he is and that he probably isn't going to be around much longer and that we needed to get up there and see him asap. We did.

To be blunt...it was one of the most horrible sights I've seen...

He contracted phenomena on top of his emphysema and was only breathing regularly at around a 45% capacity. He was unaware of his surroundings all but a few times...it was really hard watching him just gasp for air like a fish or something....my arms where thicker than his legs...it was really rough.

We stayed until about 8 when he was doing ok and we decided we needed some food. Needless to say, about seven minutes after leaving we get a call saying that his heart is only beating at 32 bpm.

We get back and then basically just said good bye...I'll tell you...watching that 32 bpm slowly shrink was just so surreal...

He went very peacefully and without pain, and for that I'm glad.

Just cherish those that you love people...in just a matter of months I've lost my great grandmother and now the only grandfather I've ever known. Don't let precious moments slip through your fingers, you just never know if you'll get to experience them again.

Cody, i can understand the feelings your having, but my story is a little different. almost three years ago i had a friend who died in my arms from a drunk driver. it really sucks but the best thing for me was to look foward to better things. be happy their suffering is gone and its like mr. president said, they're in a better place now. dont think of it in a way that you will not experience them again, just remember the experiences you have. I dont really know you but i hope you get better.

Anyways, recently my friend's dad died from cancer and he was telling me about it, yet I still don't know how it really feels. In fact, a second grandfather died in Paris when I was about 5, and he was a great guy, I was sad when I was informed he wouldn't come home, but was just confused about how to feel. Sometimes people get taken from your life before you get a proper chance to get to know them. Well, the point is, I hope you live through this, learn, prosper, and become a stronger person.

To make this relevant to CoB: I still enjoy Follow the Reaper every once in a while, however, I don't find any comfort with the rest of their catalog.

One of his old bands bandmates went off to join Kreator.

Roope is just awesome though. I would just love to go up to him and just say, "You know...you're awesome. If I ever got someones face tattooed on my, it would be yours....and Alexi's...and Janne, Jaska, and Henkka, but THAT'S not the point. You would be there! I love you man" and then give him a big ol hug.

the way they say it, they're just a metal band.

a lot of people say that they're melodic death, or melodic death mixed with power metal. but they've got so much stuff it's kind of hard to say...NWOBHM, blackened vocals, thrash, etc etc...so yeah, it's easier just to say metal.
