I think they are great in their own ways. Sure, they're not much like Something Wild's but they're still awesome. Smile Pretty for the Devil has a pretty nice solo.

I know Roope has two solos on Blooddrunk, but I'm not sure which ones they are.
I'm pretty sure the second Banned From Heaven solo is his. One of the better ones on the album too imo.

Well, his ESP signature model is shaped like the RR, but a larger size. And in the states, it has the usually sorter horn a good bit longer.

and as for the jeans, just because they're on the "official" CoB merch site doesn't really mean the band had all that much to do with it at all. It really doesn't matter all that much anyway, though. Merch is generally quite irrelevant. :p:

Yeah the US version of the Laiho looks really lame...if you're going to but one, make sure it's either a European LTD, a European ESP (hella bank) or an Edwards Alexi. Or I guess a Jackson RR24, but I've heard mixed things about them.

I think they've all at least said at some point that they enjoy the newer sound more, at one point or another. I know Alexi said AYDY was his favorite work that they've done at the time it had recently come out. I'm sure the same goes for Blooddrunk, and probably even their next album.

Well Wikipedia says the new Sinergy album is still coming and set for 2008, but I sincerely doubt that's accurate. I would be really disappointing if there wasn't another Sinergy album though. Since Alexi and Kim are still interacting and stuff, maybe there's still some sort of plan.

Nope, but you can get a similar guitar without a floyd... seriously the floyd is one of the major parts of the guitar and Alexi uses it quite frequently, so unless you custom shop it I doubt something like this will ever be made. Try a jackson rr5 maybe?

GOD DAMN! just saw CoB tonight and it was amazing. i was like right at the front of the crowd. it was awesome.

the crowd was intense. everyone was just going crazy. it was is a small club type venue, and while Bodom was playing it was almost impossible to move.

I really wanted to see Silent Night, Bodom Night, and Lake Bodom, but it seems that the only 2 older songs that they are doing are Downfall and Hate Me. According to most website anyway. i saw gigantour in atlanta on the 20th. CoB put on a great show it was just too short, i think 7 songs and that was it. in flames was also really good but had a short set too. mastadon was standing outside the entrance before the show but nobody really made a big deal about it.

BTW, i saw CoB LIVE on friday, up in mass, it was the sickest **** ive ever seen. alexi went crazy with soloing, i was about 20 feet from the stage and it was the best thing ive ever seen

I saw them on Gigantour about two weeks ago. They were great. I thought they were the second best there behind Megadeth. The only dissapointment was that they only played one song off of Hatebreeder, one off of Follow the Reaper, and none off of Something Wild, but it was still insane.

I was also there on Friday and Alexi did play really well. He definitely had at least a beer during the set though, but that wouldn't do anything. He did an awesome sweeping run at the end of the Downfall solo which sounded sick. I couldn't hear many of the leads that well because the acoustics at the Palladium blow.

Actually, during the CRY performance, he was on a ton of morphine from almost breaking his foot during the show the night before.

But yeah, I've heard him say the same thing. He drinks, but I've never seen him wasted on stage.

Just picked up Blooddrunk. Fucking stoked on it. It's a really solid album. A lot darker than AYDY? The synth backing for some of the songs (beginning of Lobodomy) is really ambient and awesome. Shredding and br00talz is still hanging around, great band, great album.

Yeah, I wouldn't either. Good thing is, it's on Wednesday, and I think the headache is gone. I took Tylenol like 12 hours ago, and the effects were supposed to wear off in 6, and still no headache. Now it's just the sore throat. :(

Metal Gear Solid is easily one of my favorite game series' ever, if not the absolute. Such an amazing story, I can't wait to see how it goes down in MGS4. I'm curious as to what jacked the hell out of Raiden, though.

I think your wrong about in flames. I have interviews with Jesper and Bjorn from like 2000 and they stated that they were shifting away from the melodic death metal then. I think they are being pretty genuine. Some bands just change over time. Like bodom, they dont sound like Hatebreeder anymore, and Megadeth doesnt sound like KIMB anymore..

Got back from Gigantour yesterday and a kick ass show from Bodom!
There were a LOT of Bodom fans...the after their set, a handful of people just left.

Alexi sounded disappointed that their set was so damn short. Maybe they'll do a North American headlining tour sometime soon.

I actually like Blooddrunk quite a bit, I don't know where the fuss is coming from. It's not like Hatebreeder, but it's Bodom's musical direction of choice and I respect that. It's not a bad album by any means, and it's an interesting take on thrash by Alexi and the crew. It's like a sped-up version of HCDR and I like it as much as I like Hate Crew.
Hellhounds is easily in my top 10 Bodom songs. If not for the pure magic that is Hatebreeder-FTR, it would be in my top 3 for sure.

Honestly, I've been very depressed with the new cd. Been a fan of Bodom for a while, and I even thought Are You Dead Yet was really really good. But this new one has been miserable. It feels forced, rushed, repeated, and so many other -ed words that I can't even think of. Granted, one or two were really good, but does that really matter when the other 32 minutes and 13 bucks is wasted?

Download it and see. I know Alexi would hate you, but do it anyway. Don't waste the money. See them live. Buy their merch. But don't waste money on that new piece of trash.

I got some bad news...

So in case none of you have heard, Central Florida is literally being burned down. For those of you whom don't know, I'M from Central Florida. Starting Sunday night, several fires have been started. According to officials, the fires were started by arsonists. Investigators are looking into a report of someone throwing something out of a dark-colored Hyundai sedan near one of the areas where a fire started. So far, we have 12 fires. I got some bad news...

So in case none of you have heard, Central Florida is literally being burned down. For those of you whom don't know, I'M from Central Florida. Starting Sunday night, several fires have been started. According to officials, the fires were started by arsonists. Investigators are looking into a report of someone throwing something out of a dark-colored Hyundai sedan near one of the areas where a fire started. So far, we have 12 fires. Approximately 3,000 acres of land are being affected by the fires. My home isn't in danger yet. It's about 10 miles away from my home, yet many of my friends have suffered from these fires. I have good news. My guitar teacher's wife went and visited their home to see if it was damaged this morning. Turns out it remained untouched. The fires are still raging, but I'm not sure whether or not the area where my guitar teacher lives is still in danger. This morning on my way to work, I looked in the direction where the flames were the worst the night before and there wasn't a single ounce of smoke in the sky. Last night on my way home, the smoke stretched farther than the eyes could see in both directions. Also, Florida Power and Light showed that they really kick a lot of ass in times of need thanks to all the Hurricanes we've had in the past several years. This morning there were about 5,500 people without power. Now, there's about 1,400 without power still.

But there is still bad news: the city where I live in has over 3,500 acres of land destroyed. Approximately 70+ homes have been damaged or destroyed. The fires are more serious than I expected too. Word is, there are fires about 100 miles north from here, reaching Daytona Beach. They've even reached across the state to Orlando. Whether or not the fires around Daytona and Orlando were started by the arsonist or not is unknown to me. But without a doubt, the ones in the surrounding cities were started by that asshole. It looks like the score is as follows;
Arsonist: 100+
Central Florida: 0

I've also been listening in to the radio a lot. We're now bringing in Firefighters from about 12 other states in the South to help take down these fires. Fire Station 89 down here in Palm Bay has been damaged by fire. I don't know if it was destroyed, but there was a fire there. A small airport by my old guitarists' house has been touched by the flames as well. We also have many firefighters hospitalized. One firefighter was put into critical condition after a telephone pole fell on top of him.

I hate to sound like I'm ignoring the situation at hand, but does anybody have any idea what the "mystery lyrics" in You're Better Off Dead are? I know the first line is "Hey, if you like me today" and the last line is "It's raining flesh and blood", but the middle two are a mystery to me and the various interpretations across the net make no sense whatsoever.
