It's Superman, Janne :p:
Also, anybody know anything about that question in my last post?
Holy ****, man..... That's horrible :( I wish you and the rest of Florida luck in getting those bastards!
I hate to sound like I'm ignoring the situation at hand, but does anybody have any idea what the "mystery lyrics" in You're Better Off Dead are? I know the first line is "Hey, if you like me today" and the last line is "It's raining flesh and blood", but the middle two are a mystery to me and the various interpretations across the net make no sense whatsoever.
Incidentally, we're closing in on the Opeth Fellation Thread in post count.

Yeah, I'd say so. It's what you'd expect from a Bodom album. Good leads, fine vocals, etc. etc. Go ahead and get it, it's pretty impressive, but it's not their best.

I'd also like to add that it's gone in a different direction than AYDY. It's more progressive in some aspects, as well as a bit more like their work on album the album HCDR. It's one of my Bodom favorites, even if its not at absolute top.

Here's am older, but still funny, piece I found
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii301/AleksiAlexi/IMG_0002-1.jpg
and for those who don't understand Finnish...
One time was enough – Alexi Laiho doesn’t drink gin ever again. (Iltasanomat 7/2007)
Children of Bodom guitarist Alexi Laiho promised 12 years ago that he won’t drink gin ever again and he has kept his promise.
Last time Alexi drank gin was at age of 16. Friend’s parents were at winter holiday so he held a party. There was a bottle of gin in the drink cupboard.
- We drank it straight. I hadn’t drunk that much straight booze back then so I couldn’t handle it as well as now days, Alexi explains.
He remembers getting back to home somehow in the middle of the night.
- I woke up after a while when my mom was trying to wake me up. I was laying in my own puke, I didn’t even get to the shower on my own.
After changing clothes and sheets Alexi continued sleeping until same thing happened again. Mom came back to wake up her dirty son, and same thing was done also third time.
- Mom stayed up almost all night cleaning me and my bed again and again. In the morning she just said that as you probably noticed its not good idea to drink that kind of booze. I haven’t touched gin after that, I can’t even smell it without feeling sick.
- Embarrassing story but because of that I don’t drink gin, Alexi says.
Haha that's a funny story. :D Thanks for posting it Delanoir.

The show was AMAZING last night.
Bodom definitely should have replaced In Flames, and everyone there knew it. One of the best moments was when the lights ****ed up and went completely out during In Your Face, but they kept on playing right on through most of the song without missing a note until they came back.
Alexi was really spot on, and I don't know what people are talking about when they say he's sloppy, in all honesty. He did his guitar roll and didn't mess it up this time, haha. Everything sounded great though. I felt bad for Alexi when, right after finishing Bodom After Midnight, he ran off stage for a minute. While he was gone, Janne played a bit of Van Halen. When Alexi came back he was just like "So I just puked my f*cking brains out, but hey, f*ck that sh*t happens right?" and went right into the next song, Angels Don't Kill.
All in all, one of the best shows I've ever been to.

I think you did tell me about it, actually. And I think he mentioned something about touring Europe this winter/fall, around Wacken.
Well, before the show, I was by the gates when I saw Janne and Alexi hanging out with some people outside their bus. Because it's a bigger venue, the security wouldn't let anyone in, but the guy said he couldn't stop me from trying to get their attention. So I just yelled out the first thing that came to mind, which was "SUOMI!" (finland) and they both turned around and waved.
Afterwards, I was just chilling back outside by the same place waiting for the traffic to all die down, and there were a couple other people hanging out trying to get autographs from people. The roadie from Megadeth said there was no luck if you didn't have a VIP pass (lame, but I didn't care anyway). But this other guy came a little bit after that to ask who they were waiting for, and most people said Bodom. So he came back with Alexi, Anders, and Bjorn. I talked to Bjorn and Anders for a bit, while Alexi was signing stuff. After that, I just talked to him about non-music related stuff, like the Blues Brothers and the Big Lebowski, and he asked me if I wanted to hang out with them for a bit in the bus, since they were actually watching Lebowski. So he took me along with him into their bus and all the guys were just kicking back drinks, but weren't that drunk yet, but mostly just kind of tired. Jaska was super cool, Henkka was really nice, and Janne is way friendly. Roope was quiet until he got more drunk (the man is a beast). They were all awesome about the whole thing, and it was honestly one of the coolest moments in my life, as mellow as it was. Considering how humble and friendly they all were, I have even more respect for them now.

Most of Angels Don't Kill is alright, Everytime I Die may or may not be okay for you.
In Your Face is pretty easy. Well, most of AYDY is bit more rhythm-centric rather than lead-filled.
The main riff of Downfall is fairly quick to pick up, as is the rest of the song.

As far as Bodom videos go, it's pretty cool.
They never really go all out, and most of them hate when people try to tell a story or get too over the top with one. Alexi hates the Everytime I Die video for this reason. They all mostly prefer seeing the band play.

Yeah, but like, all the vids become interchangable. The least they could do is something like In Your Face.
Cool new setting, etc.
But these ones just eh....

I think it'd be hilarious and awesome to hear Janne going nuts on the keys, and some ridiculous harmonized solo between Roope and Alexi.
And thanks :D I'll always take that as a compliment. Janne actually did, once I was on the bus. I didn't repeat it here though because I figured if no one else mentioned it, it would sound like I was making it up, haha.

Course it would make a difference. Every little thing you do will change the sound slightly. I was tinkering around with my bass last night through my wah pedal. I changed the leads around, so before it was like this;
Bass ------- wah pedal ------ amp
And then it was;
Bass ------ wah pedal ------- amp
Tone changed COMPLETELY. You just gotta experiment. Personally, I prefer the idea of finding your own sound, not just using someone elses. Not saying it's a bad thing, just don't prefer it myself.

Awww I wish they would play Tie my Rope, that song is so underrated, the harmonic at the end of the solo is orgasmic, and I could listen to that song all day for just those few seconds in the song. I'm going to the Glasgow gig tomorrow, perfect set list for me would be as follows:
Blooddrunk
Tie my Rope
Follow the Reaper
Bodom After Midnight/Bodom Beach Terror mix
Angels Don't Kill
Hate Me!
Needled 24/7
Hate Crew Deathroll
Silent Night, Bodom Night
Kissing the Shadows

That's why I like being a bassist who can play a bit of guitar and who writes.
I know what the instruments are capable of doing.

Awww I wish they would play Tie my Rope, that song is so underrated, the harmonic at the end of the solo is orgasmic, and I could listen to that song all day for just those few seconds in the song. I'm going to the Glasgow gig tomorrow, perfect set list for me would be as follows:
Blooddrunk
Tie my Rope
Follow the Reaper
Bodom After Midnight/Bodom Beach Terror mix
Angels Don't Kill
Hate Me!
Needled 24/7
Hate Crew Deathroll
Silent Night, Bodom Night
Kissing the Shadows
Banned from Heaven
Even though their set won't be that long lol.
If they play Hate Crew, Beach Terror and Follow the Reaper I will be extremely happy.
Badass setlist.
Also badass pics Delanoir :p:

I love in your face
What's your favorite song that yo're trying t o play?
sorry i meant choosing a favorite song was too hard, i haven't yet found a song by cob i cant play(except solo on bodom beach terror) and also, i think that alexi should give Henkka something useful in the next album, i cant even hear him atm.
ps, Alexi used a Lee Jackson preamp for hatebreeder and ftr - theres next to no info about it on the net except on a series of youtube vids.
A Krank Revolution/Krankenstein(cant tell which) on guitar heroes album.
dont take my word for these next 2 but i think he used a Peavey 5150 on something wild and a Marshall2203kk on blooddrunk
i think roope just uses a krank revolution.
EDIT: btw, has anyone else noticed alexi is using powerchords and pentatonic scales more often in blooddrunk instead of exotic scales and crazy guitar licks like in their first 3 albums?

If you guys could have Bodom play ONE live song (you can pick ANY one of their songs) for you, and you only had one choice...what would it be?
Myself I'd probably choose You're Better Off Dead. They have rarely played that song live, and plus it is probably tied with Children of Bodom (self-titled song) for my favorite Bodom song of all time.

Well I'm just back from Glasgow, was an amazing gig and amazing set, they played (not in order)
Sixpounder (opener)
In Your face
Living Dead Beat
Silent Night Bodom Night
Hate Me!
Follow the Reaper
Hellhounds on My Trail
Banned From Heaven
Blooddrunk
Smile Pretty for the Devil
Mask of Sanity/Deadnight Warrior
Angels Don't Kill
Hatecrew Deathroll
Needled 24/7
Don't Stop Believin (Journey cover :p: )
And of course, Downfall
Think thats about it anyway.
I waited outside for about 2 and a half hours and met the guys, they were all pretty cool but Roope was the best. Everyone seemed tired and they just wanted to go for a drink someplace, got everyone's autograph and stuff. I caught Henkka's sweatband after Downfall, it's awesome.
I also made a point to ask Roope about his parrots :haha he said the male one is very big now and that it swears like a mother****er, then I got a photo with him. Hennka didn't know whether or not they'd be back for the Machine Head/Slipknot tour; he said he assumed so but couldn't guarantee it.
Janne was pissed, he fell off a kerb while signing my ticket. Jaska was quiet and Alexi didn't say much, just came out, signed a few tickets, took a few photos and left but Roope was the best :p

Yeah I knew about that one, but I was thinking something more along the line of a standard series. Like a few color options, a better pickup(s) (I don't mind passive EMG's, but they're nothing compared to the actives), etc etc.

The pickup would be really easy to change... and I wouldn't count on color options, except black, and that probably wouldn't be unless they saw that these sold well.
I mean, he only plays black, white, and grey anyway.

True, but like I said I was thinking more along the lines of a standard series. As in not a signature guitar. So then the pickups and paint would be options that come available from ESP, rather than having to get it and change everything, and then still having someone else's name on it.

Oh, well that's not too likely, I would imagine.
It's called the Random Star. They only sell it outside of the US. Which means no LTD.
That does, however, mean that Edwards makes one, for cheaper.

Many of the covers Bodom has done are like that. Some others with "clean" vocals are...
-Don't Stop At The Top
-Shot In The Dark
-Somebody Put Something In My Drink
-Bed Of Nails (mostly in the chorus)
-She Is Beautiful (to an extent)
-Oops! I Did It Again...
-Talk Dirty To Me
-We're Not Gonna Take It
