I'm a bitch about labels usually. I prefer my stuff correctly labelled so I know exactly what characteristics it has. It's just easier that way because the wrong bands don't get lumped together. I get into the stupidest arguments because of labels though.

<3 Classical music IMO owns just about everything. Labels do get annoying if it's like 'Pfft Dissection aren't black metal! They're melodic blackened death metal with classical influences.' Or even 'Autumnal aren't doom! They're cello rock/epic/avantgarde/doom with classical influences.' That's just a bit out of hand. :p:
But I do prefer to a band like let's say...Behemoth, to be referred to as blackened death metal, as opposed to just 'heavy metal' because that's too wide of a genre.

It's ok, I used to make holes in my pages when I'd paint on paper. I wish I was a caveman 'cause back then they painted on rocks, and there's no way I could make holes in the rock with a paintbrush, and no matter how crappy the art, people in the future will always be amazed. :p:

Dude Floyd Roses are not limited to standard. If you know how to tune them, that is. My Jackson Kelly has a Floyd on it and it is in D-Standard and never goes out of tune! I can't believe you traded a Jackson for a piece of shit schecter, but to each his/her own I guess :peace:

Alexi Laiho ain't the most creative guitarist but at least he doesn't try to wank and show off the skills he doesn't have. He's pretty good for his age you know even if a lot of the stuff he does is Malmsteen ripoff.

Actually, the RR3s have Jackson locking trem systems, which many say are inferior to an origonal Floyd Rose. But even the Jackson trem shouldn't have gone out of tune if it was level against the body. If you bought it used or from a shop where lots of people play it from day to day, chances are the bridge was knocked off center (like these two Stagg guitars at a local store I go to) and wouldn't keep tune because of it.

Alexi does f*ck up quite a bit when playing live (because he hates Dream Theater, :haha), but on album he's one of the most skilled guitarists I've ever heard. Although, that's not to say he doesn't play pretty damn well live... he just hits a buncha wrong notes and misses a few, lol! If he just put like, an extra half hour of practicing in, he could hit the notes a bit more accurately, still f*ck up, but make it look like he meant to do it rather than "Oops, I did it again!"

Alexi only uses 1 pedal: Wah Wah. Whats more important are his amps and special additions to his guitars. His Pre amps are a lee jackson prefect connection GP-1000 tube/ a back uptech 21 sansamp psa-1/ and a vht two/fifty/two stereo tube power amp/ running into a marshall 1960b 4x12 cab. Now for his guitars. All use a EMG-HZ H4 passive in the bridge position, but what makes them so special are his gain boost inside. Other than that he has some rack gear that i dont care to write out and a guy that adds delay to some solos. This was all taken from Guitar World magazine's vulgar display of power section.

i wouldn't say that Janne is a better soloist than Alexi, i mean c'mon keyboards and guitar are two different instruments. but they're both talented either way. and im not a fan of keyboards either, i used to hate Janne's playing, but then it just grew on me.

Sig'd! Oh c'mon, you know Janne's better. Bodom without him would not be very good. Bodom without Alexi's guitar work would still be amazing because IMO Roope is way more skilled than Alexi.

Roope is awesome, but Alexi's style has kinda shaped CoB.
And Janne is feckin' amazing. I never used to like keyboards, but he is possibly THE key element in CoB's sound. Imagine Hate Me! without the insanely catchy keyboard intro, or Downfall without the intro and verse keyboards. It's awesome! And his keyboard solos are stupidly quick.

you cant replace Alexi, his voice is one of the things sets Bodom apart from every other metal band. that and his insane pentatonic solos. i love em. alexi cannot be replaced.

It's funny, because Children of Bodom is like that "gateway band" for most people to get into Metal now, but they were nowhere close to the first metal band I listened to. In fact, I put off checking them out for a looooong-ass time...Then downloaded Follow the Reaper, and bought all their albums. :D

Wierd. I listen to a lot of bands with harsh vocals, and I can't stand Lamb of God's vocals. I've slowly been getting used to Arch Enemy's, but they still bug me a bit.

I used to like them but then i got into different stuff.. im not sure thats just who listened to back then... the mastodon vocals got me used to harsh vocals as well, not that their vocals are all that harsh

he has to sing AND play lead riffs. and i dont know if youve tried but its pretty freakin hard. He is not the best soloist but the keys and the drums drain out the sloppiness and it sounds good anyway.

It is very hard to sing and play lead fills at the same time. I should know because I do it. It always feels like you're rushing it when you do it too which is a hard thing to control. I give Alexi tons of credit for creating my favorite band ever but I still think Roope should be able to solo in some of the songs because he plays lead as well. As a rhythm guitarist though, his shit is tight as hell. Very underrated if you ask me

It's not that special that Laiho sings and plays geetar at the same time. If Muhammed Suicmez and Karl Sanders can pull it off, especially with the stuff they do, which is 1000x more technical than Laiho's (they do it cleaner and more accurate than him), then he doesn't do anything that impressive.

Alexi's vocals sound 1000x better than Muhammed's though. In my opinion that is. But Necrophagist annoys the hell out of me anyway, so I may be a bit biased.

Whether you like Muhammed's vocals or not, they are more difficult to do right and his guitar work makes Alexi look like a n00b. But I worship Muhammed so I may be biased as well.

yeah, muhammad plays his licks so accurately live, it kinda embarrases alexi. plus, alexi always changes the runs/arpeggios of the solos to easier ones when he plays live, where as muhammad plays it spot on...

I can understand citing Muhammed Suicmez, but Karl Sanders?? I mean, Nile's guitar is fast, but that's about it. I haven't heard any solos of his that can compare to Laiho's.

Alexi is back in business. His shoulder should be ok, not perfect
never again, but so that it shouldn't affect his playing anyway. So
he is very very very relieved!

And we have have started to put some tunes together now...And we have something already done...
It's exciting to do something new again after a couple of years
touring! Recording will happen somewhere, after summer! So we will do those festivals in between songwriting sessions!

What else is new...

...we will put some footage somewhere later on from our rehearsals, so we will keep u updated!
