Anyone sit down and listen to the album "Chicken Noodles" with BH and Travis Dickerson? It is really amazing actually. If you haven't listened to it and like some of the music off of Population Override you should really give it a listen.
I also sat down and listened to "Axiology" today. I have actually been listening to it for the past few days and it is also really good. What are everyone elses opinions on the album?
I think the low point of "Axiology" would be "Pyre". Don't get me wrong the track is good but it isn't as good as the other songs.

To my knowledge, Bucket has never toured internationally, besides a Japanese tour back in late 90s/Early 2000s.. :(

Cornbugs is ... odd. The major thing about them is Chop Top's vocals. They're not the easiest to get accustomed to. Nothing like Maximum Bob's, actually quite the opposite. If you can manage the vocals and some strange, strange lyrics, then they can grow on you. Bucket's playing is great (as always) though. :D
I believe they have a MySpace, for any curious listeners.
Oh, and I finally got my Florida show tickets! Can't wait. :D :D :D

What's the most "normal" buckethead album? I really want to get one. I'm totally in love with "Nottingham lace", but I don't want to get some totally freaky CD for my first one, you know? I kind of need to realise how good he is before I can be exposed to the really weird stuff. Any recomendations?
I love buckethead.....so noone yell at me over my opinion
I like his shredding the most. Electric tears is BORING. COLMA IS BORING. Whitewash and big sur moon are awsome though. I like acoustic shards. its amazing. Giant robot was my first cd and its a very good one. I say dont buy anything till you own giant robot. crime slunk scene was pretty good. soothsayer was the only good song. king james was BORING. Not as boring as electric tears... Monsters and robots is ok. The other cds on iTunes are wierd. I want the disney album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when does it some out. POPULATION OVERIDE WAS BORING!!!! but better than colma. i like unrestrained growth and too many humans. idk what else to say.

No one is going to yell at you about your opinion. Then again
"yo someone on the first page. Buckethead is awsome!"
Maybe we should considering it seems like you might not be respecting other people's opinions yourself. :peace:
I really don't know how you think Soothsayer is the only good song off of Crime Slunk Scene but to each his/her own.
I suggest that anyone that likes slower beautiful music to check out Colma or Electric Tears. Of course there are more albums of it then just those two though ;)
"The other cds on iTunes are wierd."
:haha :haha
I don't think he really has any weird albums personally. They seem weird sometimes the first two three times listening to it but it isn't really weird.

I love my parents isn't a bad one to learn then. It is only a minute long though. You also have All in the Waiting. I can't think of many for you to learn that aren't the slower songs of his. Many of his distorted songs have something that might be too hard for you. There might be a few on "Decoding the Tomb of the Banshee Bot" that you could do though.
For more slower songs:
Electric Tears
Giant Robot Theme
Ghost Pt2
Ghost(doesn't sound as good with only one guitar though.)
Wondering
Hills of Eternity
She Sells Sea Shells by the Slaughterhouse
Most of his slower stuff is on the easy side.
So basically the entire Colma and Electric tears album. If you can find a tab for it.

^Welcome to Bucketheadland shouldn't be too difficult either, as far as or art(it's not that long anyway)
(plus it's loads of fun to play anyway)
Edit:
Plus, there's always Soothsayer too. It's fairly easy, up until the insane parts of course. But it shouldn't be too much of a problem up to then, and even then he could improv, end the song, or even jump into a new one.

Soothsayer sounds pretty good to me. The end bit is a bit too hard but I don't really wanna go out and play a 9 minute song, so I might cut it out at about 5. Thanks guys for all your suggestions.

Just got back, great show. Mini review below with pictures and videos. Video links at the bottom.
I got to the Belly Up around 6:00, doors at 8:00, show at 10:00. I recognize a few guys from the show in March at the front of the line. They let us in somewhat on time, last time we got stuck outside until 9:00, with snow on the ground. That 1 Guy comes on at 10:00 almost exactly, plays some good songs. He did a lot of card tricks this time. He played the favorites, Butt Machine, Weasel Pot Pie, One. He didn't play The Moon is Disgusting, which disappointed me, other than that he had a solid set.
That 1 Guy ended at 11 something. Buckethead showed up with the Michael Myers mask at 11:30ish and came out onto the stage quickly. Opens with NoTS, then goes into Crash Victim and kicks the statues around. I noticed that P-Sticks taped them up, when he brought them in one of the busts was broken. I think next he played Ghost Host, then a new song, I didn't get a chance to buy the tour CDs so I apologize for not recognizing the names of the new ones. At the end of the new song he breaks his A string and runs backstage, they turn on some of the Bucketheadland quotes and he's back out in no time.
I'm a little fuzzy in the middle with the set list, he played Gory Head Stump, one funky song, then Soothsayer (Amazing!), I forget which song was next, then it's the toys. I got him a pirate mask from Pirates of the Caribbean from Disneyland Paris when I went there earlier this year, and he handed me my first toy, Princess Leia and a Rebel Commander! The girls next to me made an awesome "Zombie Chicken". After the toys he played Jordan, a few technical difficulties during the song.
Sorry again, I'm not good at remembering set lists, but I remember he played Toy Store and then That 1 Guy came back out. Their jamming was a lot better than in March, I'm guessing that they used a few of those jams and turned them into songs for the CD, it was a lot more structured.
Buckethead came out again, shredded everyone to pieces with Welcome to Bucketheadland, waved goodbye, and left everyone stunned with amazement. Amazing show, 10X better than the one I saw in March, Buckethead played around a lot more, he seemed to have more fun.
I got some good videos, still uploading them to YouTube, I got one new song on it. I'm right beneath the Wah so he's standing above me the whole time, it was incredible.
Here are some of my favotire pictures that I got.

I don't think its supposed to be in Half Step down tuning. It sounds better in Standard. Its the second part of the solo that I got stuck at. I probably should be using Version 1.
EDIT: Version 1 isn't much better. It dosen't have any parts of the main solo. Only the pre solo which I will probably change anyway.

From the shows I saw they are very different. Mine were separated by 6 months though, so I can't tell you how much it will change from a night or two.

If you're seeing him with That 1 Guy, I would say about four hours.
Here's the timetable from the shows that I saw.
10:00 That 1 Guy comes on.
11:00 That 1 Guys ends his set
11:30 Buckethead comes on
1:30 That 1 Guy comes back and they jam for a while
2:00 Buckethead comes back out alone and plays his final song
Seeing Bucket play live for two and a half hours is so much fun.

I'm really jelous of all you people living in the states,
In fact, I've been a Buckethead fan for a while.
I lived in Orlando for two years, and this summer I moved back to Sweden.
What is the first thing I see when I check his new tour dates?
He is gonna play in Orlando.

Are any of his albums a good source for songs like Nottingham Lace and Soothsayer ballad-type songs? I got some of his albums but no offense, i hate shuffling through them all to find the one song i'll like. So any one got any suggestions? (other then Giant Robot, Monsters & Robots, and Peppers Ghost. I already have listened to those in and out.)

I don't quite understand the love that people have for Buckethead. What is it about his music that is apparently so good? I don't want to say he lacks emotion or anything that might start the usual flame war, but I just don't see it.
Then again, I'm not that into shred at all.
Baby Joel
10-08-2008, 03:51 AM
Its not that its just emotional, but its musical. You could still have emotion but be playing random notes. Buckethead knows exactly what he's doing, all the time. He's also incredible technical, and can easily go into messed up serial/atonal solos, that honestly don't sound much like music.
He also speaks through his guitar. The songs mean so much more once you incorporate the title into it.
And he doesn't even do shred all the time. If you listen to Colma, there are only two songs that could be considered shred, and the rest are incredible musical and emotional pieces.
The man/robot has got talent

The MXR EVH Phase 90 is the only one O can make out. So, I know that can't be too much help as just about anyone can pick the MXR out of a set of pedals. It seems to be set at 5, maybe 6 but most likely 5. Next week when I get to see him I will try and get a peak at his pedals and give ya' some info.

That is one of his best songs.

I personally don't think the Electric Tears album is that great. It's just way too slow sometimes, and I like the more melancholy sounding stuff too. This is my list of songs that I'd recommend people to listen to(I posted this before but people keep asking):
-Nottingham Lace
-Machete
-Soothsayer
-Brewer In The Air
-Lotus Island
-Welcome To Bucketheadland
-Night Of The Slunk
-Asylum Of Glass
-Ghost Host
-Final Wars

-Whitewash
-Bloodless
-Electric Tears
-Plastination Station
-Botnus
-Ghost (and Ghost Pt. 2)
-Goblin Shark

-The Interworld And The New Innocence
-Running From The Light

Who-ho, looked what I stumbled across on one of my monthly visits or so to the TK board.
Lane told me himself that he recorded an album with Bucket in the early/mid-90's and that Laswell produced it...it was backstage at a Hellborg/Lane/Sipe concert in 96....he said at the time that it could very well be in Laswell's very extensive stock pile of master tapes...much like Zappa it seems Laswell has a very large back-up of unreleased stuff...(I've seen pictures)...I've been telling this story for years(on the old Bucketboard and Laswll lists etc.) and I whole-heartedly believe that the recording exists...I just hope one day it is found, dusted off and released...
http://bucketheadland.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=15667&page=1#273701

Nice to see you found some photos.
1) I can't really remember the set list completely because last night was rather long(Show didn't end till 1 a.m. I had got up that morning at 5 a.m.)
He opened with "Night of the Slunk" I know that. I know after the toys/dance/nun-chuck thing he went into Jordan. From there I think, not sure if I remember correctly, he went into Botnus. After Botnus was Jowls, Improv(Jam)/Foxylady, Revenge of the Double-Man. I can't quite remember much of them after that. I know he played like three songs off of Albino Slug(Siege Engine, Redeem Team, not sure about the other one may have just been an improv./jam) Right after a jam with That1Guy he closed with Welcome to Buckethead Land, no encore.
So to put it in more of a list(not in order):
Night of the Slunk
Jordan
Soothsayer(it was a little bit before the dance/toys/chucks)
Botnus
Revenge of the Double-man
Foxylady
Jowls
Siege Engine
Redeem Team
Welcome to Buckethead Land
Wonka in Slaughter Zone(Pure Imagination, the version off of Bucketheadland)
Jam with That1Guy
Itsy Bitsy Spider
Oakridge Cake
If I can think of any of the others I will put them up.
2) No, he didn't do any bass jamming. He did do his bass style licks on guitar, you know the slap rhythm thing.
If you want to know if he played a certain song then mention and I should be able to tell you.

Actually no, he wasn't owned. Brian Carroll does wear a mask. When he is wearing the mask he is known as Buckethead. Buckethead and Brian Carroll are the same so...yeah he does wear a mask. And as far as hating KFC, that may be true but how in the hell do you know what the person likes and what they don't like? Considering the Buckethead name was born on a night when Brian and his family were eating fried chicken, I'm leaning towards him not hating KFC.

Brian Caroll does not wear a mask. Buckethead wears a mask.
Brian Caroll may like KFC, but Buckethead wears the 'Funeral' KFC hat to mourn for the dead chickens.
[/fact]
And he does 'hat' KFC. That's why its on his head. :/
@IHazYellowFever, Buckethead is better. Put it this way, do you want to buy something that gives forever good awesome epic beautiful music, or something that isn't good for your body? Your choice. ;)

You do know it is two "r"s in Carroll and not one right? You do know that Buckethead is just Brian Carroll in a mask and with a bucket on his head right? Either way, believe what you want to believe. I'm done with this petty argument.

I know this is kind of like resurrection for this topic.. and perhaps this is the wrong place to bring it up.. but is it just me or is Buckethead OVERRATED?!
I know hes not too popular within the wretched realms of popular culture, but it seems those that do know him try to compare him to greats such as Dave Mustaine, Kirk Hammet, Randy Rhodes, David Gilmour, Dimebag Darrel, etc., etc. (Mainly based on personal preference, but you can substitute any great into that list.)
I take NOTHING away from how great Bucketheads ability is.
Ive pretty rare to see anyone tap with all 10 fingers and have the finger speed that he does.
Not to mention some of the great songs he created such as Soothsayer, Nottingham Lance, Final Wars, Too Many Humans, (SOLO from Jordan.. my opinion is the song is repetitive and annoying.)
BUT, despite the raw Buckethead songs just listed, he has a lot of crap. Most under 2 minutes in playing time. HARDLY epic.
To compare him to legendary guitarists who have been around for years, composing dozens of riffs and emotional solos, it really boggles my mind.
Now, there's no question in my mind if he started putting out more quality songs on more quality albums, he CAN become one of the greatest of all time. But right now at the pace he's going, its pretty foolish to consider him THE best.

The short stuff is usually just BH being BH. They sound weird out of context. Each of his albums is supposed to feel like a ride, or so he says, each song leading in and out of another. Most of those 2 minute songs are building up to another or setting a mood, I'll admit they can sound bad if they come up when your MP3 player is on shuffle, but when listening to an album those short songs can sometimes be my favorites.

3xistinstriv3, Buckethead's solos aren't emotional? I don't know about you, but his solos are the most emotional I've ever heard. And I've heard a lot of stuff. He has incredible technique, definately in the top 5 of best Technique guitarists. He can switch easily from wild shred, to calm acoustic melody. He has the most versatility of any guitarist. And he's got a bucket on his head.

He never said they weren't emotional.
In any context, I like the short songs that you say are shit. It's just an opinion, just like 99.9% of what you said.
For the under 2 minute thing...I don't see what that has to do with much of anything. I prefer 1:59 of greatness over 6 minutes of so-so music. Not to mention many punk songs are very short but amazing.
3xistinstriv3
10-28-2008, 01:11 AM
I respect everyone's opinion, and of course what I said was an opinion. An opinion backed up by facts and legacies.
And YES, the length of the song does have a lot to do with it. Of course not every song has to be 6+ minute songs of epic riffs, but most of his songs are under 2 minutes with him just playing random riffs and melodies, HARDLY epic as compared to the great guitarists ive listed.
You guys do make a point, i never have heard an entire album front to back and they probably do sound better when listened to in the same way you read a book, from beginning to end.
I also do not dispute the fact that he is EASILY top 3 based on technical ability. He just does not make the most of his ability.
I also think much of Buckethead's solos are full of emotion, such as Soothsayer, the entire song is an emotional trip. Some of his songs sound robotic, which is also part of his style.
YET in the end, to compare Buckethead to a seasoned and legendary guitarist is just absurd at this point in time. It all comes down to opinion, but basically i AM saying Buckethead has not proven himself to attain that level of greatness, which transcends all technical ability.

It's what the man likes to play, and do. I see no need to hate on something the man enjoys doing. It's not like he's trying to steal money(Most of the atonal stuff, and basically audioclips from movies and such you are talking about are on albums pushing anywhere from 10-15 years old.)
Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean anyone else does. You are basically picking some songs out of a library that consists of well into the hundreds, possibly even close to a thousand or more.

What makes, "greatness" though? Record sales? Death of the musician? Influence? It's all in the eye of the beholder, who you think is a great guitarist, another might not think so. It's your opinion and I respect it, there is really no facts on who the "greats" are, besides general opinion.

I see what you mean. People who have established signature guitars (Les Paul, Dimebag), people who have shaped the way music sounds (Page, Hendrix, etc). Yeah, those are legends.
I'm starting to agree with you now. Before I thought you were saying Buckethead was bad, but now I guess you're saying he doesn't have the experience to be a legend. Which makes sense, and I agree with you on that. I think though that if given ten more years, he may reach legendary status. He's that close.

Check out how many albums and how long he's been around. If your argument is completely based on "time span" and "number of albums" holding him back, he's more than done that. He's been an underground staple for years and years. The only thing different now is youtube has made him a "popular" underground star.
I say he is legendary. I can see somewhat your argument; but I know he has changed (for me and many others) the way we view music... thus... legendary.

I don't think you will find anyone that has changed the music industry unless you look very far back. That's a pretty bad argument. So someone can only be truly great if they change something in the industry? Then many guitarists that are considered legends really shouldn't be? Paul Gilbert is a great guitarist, legendary I would say, but he hasn't changed popular music. I guess he's crap now. Same with Petrucci, Govan, Vai, Satch, or (Insert any other guitarist in here that wasn't around in the 60s or 70s). So how many guitarists do you consider legends? Two or three? I guess by that logic only Iommi, Page and Hendrix are the only guitar legends in history.
To go back to the original post none of those guitarists have changed the music industry.
Dave Mustaine, Kirk Hammet, Randy Rhodes, David Gilmour, Dimebag Darrel, etc., etc. (Mainly based on personal preference, but you can substitute any great into that list.)
None of them have changed the face of popular music. I can see what you guys are saying, but it is just a pretty dumb way to judge guitarists. It just stinks of Classic Rock elitism.

"is it just me or is Buckethead OVERRATED?!"
Depends on how much you like him. Some may say he is underrated some say he is overrated. No facts just opinions.
"Now, there's no question in my mind if he started putting out more quality songs on more quality albums, he CAN become one of the greatest of all time. But right now at the pace he's going, its pretty foolish to consider him THE best."
I only know of quality songs and albums from him...sorry you have a different taste doesn't mean he can't be considered the best because you don't like some music of his. There is no factual best...sorry to ruin it for ya'.
"I respect everyone's opinion, and of course what I said was an opinion. An opinion backed up by facts and legacies."
Can I see some facts please. I don't recall seeing any but if you would please point them out that would help this conversation end.
"It all comes down to opinion, but basically i AM saying Buckethead has not proven himself to attain that level of greatness, which transcends all technical ability."
You're right it is all an opinion. We are glad you are saying that he has not proved himself worthy of greatness; some of us think other wise though.
"I'm not going to argue, as it seems the only people who respond to this thread are 100% Buckethead fanatics.I need some objective points of view, like myself. I guess this isnt the place to go for that.."
...I just don't like this statement.

I don't care if he has changed music at all. Doesn't change the fact that I like him and consider him great. Shawn Lane didn't change the entire music industry and he isn't really well-known. I still love his music and his guitar abilities. He is also great in my eyes and in no way underrated. Agustin Barrios Mangore is not really well-known and didn't change the entire music industry. His compositions are still amazing and can compete with your so-called "legends".
In the end, why don't we stop this conversation on opinions. I don't mind seeing conversation on topics but when going into a debate of opinions it is all really stupid.

OKAY lots to respond to, im glad some people are starting to open their eyes to what im really saying.
Let me start off by saying that to change a style of music, or pioneer a new form of rock is a huge part of being a legend.. but not everything. IF you want to make that argument, Buckethead is a truly unique sound. I cannot name any other musician with the style he has, because he has so many and ventures into unknown territory with his experimental ways.
Future legend? Of course.
Look, I take NOTHING away from Buckethead. Hes ****ing awesome.. one of my favorite musicians. See, this is what I truly dislike about DIEHARD Buckethead fans such as some of you, when someone tells you he isnt the best, you automatically assume that person doesn't like Buckethead. If you look on my iPod, you'll find his 'best' songs on there.
Basically, what im saying is that if you guys venture out of Bucketheadland once in a blue, you'd open your ears to the different varieties of guitarists who have created DOZENS of quality music over a span of 20+ years.
Do I know of Bucketheads extensive discography? You bet I do.
Problem with Buckethead's discography is that although he has around 30 or so albums and 'songs' that number into the hundreds, most of those 'songs' aren't much of anything. They are little pieces of riffs that he puts together. Of course, that's his unique style of composing, but these 'songs' are more of short skits which do not hold much musical content.
If you take a guitarist like Dave Mustaine and tape all of the little melodies he has composed, I'm sure they would number double that of Buckethead's, it's just not traditional to do this, which is what Buckethead does best, breaks tradition. (NOT A BAD THING YOU TROLLING BUCKETHEADLAND CITIZENS)
TO JACK : I'd say at least two of the guitarists i mentioned changed music. Dave Mustaine (yes i love him), and David Gilmoure. David Mustaine created the original Metallica guitar riffs of Kill Em All, some of Ride the Lightning and even beyond, up until Master of Puppets with Leper Messiah. I'd say Metallica changed music, Metal mainly. David Gilmoure may not have changed music with his guitar playing alone, but overall with Pink Floyd he shaped a whole new genre of music!! ;)
AND, I do argue with facts. If you stepped out of Bucketheadland you'd see I am bringing up facts. The careers of these guys are the facts.
AND btw, to whoever said a debate about opinions is pointless...that's what a debate is dude. Dissenting opinions being exchanged. aahaha if thats your take on debates, never get into politics bro! :D

I think the songs you are talking about are a very small minority of his songs. I'd say maybe around 10% of those are just weird stuff, like 3 minutes of centipede woman, then random geetar solo.
He has about 38 albums under Buckethead.(Including ISOT)
He has appeared on close to more than hundred other CD's. A lot of those side projects, and collaborations.
His Thanatopsis, Praxis, C2B3, stuff with Travis Dickinson, and his wonderful Jazz stuff(Jonas Hellborg, Arcana stuff) are my favorite things by him.
Like I said there is no true guitar legend, as everyone has different opinions on guitarist. Buckethead is a legend too me personally. :]

So, I finally started actively getting into Buckethead lately. I had been wanting to give him a listen for a while now after seeing a really cool video from On Demand of his first band (the Deli Creeps) that I enjoyed a lot. Plus he was a student of my favorite guitarist (Paul Gilbert).
I decided to start by checking out some of the various projects he had been involved with, since he has such an extensive solo discography that I had no idea where to start, and I wanted to see how he fit into a band setting. So the other day I went out and picked up Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains album, "The Big Eyeball in the Sky," because I am slightly familiar with Les Claypool, and enjoy his whimsical approach to music blended with great musicianship. I gotta say this disc did not disappoint. I was playing it all day in the car. Buckethead's searing Gilbert-esque solos and funky guitar blends perfectly with Les' wackyness and catchy vocal melodies.
After that I looked in the iTunes store to buy Praxis' "Transmutation" after hearing so much positive feedback about it all over the web. I only got to listen to it once so far, and I have to admit while the musicianship is very good it just didn't click like I thought it would, my guess is that it is going to take repeated listens to really appreciate.
So my question for you all is, where should I go next? At the iTunes store I noticed they had "Monsters and Robots" and was heavily considering that as my next purchase. Also I really want to get the "Dawn of the Deli Creeps" album since that band was my first real Buckethead experience, and I really liked what I heard from that concert vid.
I'm curious to know what the top picks of the seasoned Buckethead vets on here are, and by this I mean entire albums NOT individual songs.

Crime Slunk Scene is probably my favorite overall album of his. It's more of a traditional shred/rock album. It has some of his best songs on it, Gory Head Stump, King James and Soothsayer. Eventually when you really get into his material you should check out Giant Robot and Bucketheadland 1 & 2, you won't enjoy it as much if you aren't used to his sense of humor.
So I would recommend Crime Slunk Scene. I love Monsters and Robots but at times it feels a little bit overproduced, but that would be a good album to get next as well. Either one of those.

Words
My two favorite overall albums of his are either The Elephant Man's Alarm clock, or Inbred Mountain. Inbred mountain is something that will take a little longer listening of Buckethead's music to appreciate since the albums goes all over the place and doesn't stay in one place at a time.
There are two albums you should look at The Elepahnt Man's Alarm Clock, and Crime Slunk Scene. I prefer the Elephant Man's Clock to Crime Slunk Scene. But both are very good to start off with since both are where you can see basically hear Buckethead's "newer" sound. Not to mention the production on these are much better than previous albums. Either one you can get in availability.
On Monster and Robots, it's a good album, I enjoy it. You? I'm not sure. The album like most of Buckethead's previous work can some times, be out there. Not to mention it has a lot of different elements, and the production is meh. But good songs. Most of those songs don't sound anything like their live counterpart though due to Monster and Robots being filled to the brim with guitar effects.
I also suggest getting one of his mellower albums. Colma is only acoustic and programmed drums. Amazing album. Electric Tears is acoustic, and electric guitar only, no other instruments, equally as amazing.
And for the album that really gives what I call that Buckethead feel? Giant Robot. It's a little weird, but really this album should prepare you for all of Buckethead's work in the past and present and give a good feel of him. His different arrangement of songs, his samplings at beginning of songs, weird voice overs, amazing songs, amazing solo, and pretty good production for it's time.
TL;DR version. Get either The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock or Crime Slunk Scene. Maybe hold back a little bit on Monsters and Robot until you have listened to more Buckethead.

There are two albums you should look at The Elepahnt Man's Alarm Clock, and Crime Slunk Scene.
Those are amazing albums, but in my opinion, you need to look at everything to get an idea of who Buckethead is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he released 14 albums last year, and each was totally different from the others. They were all in their own world.
An album you must check out for sure is Electric Tears. That is by far my favorite of all. It is also home to my favorite song of all time, "Padmasana". There is just so much emotion in it, its just incredible. I think its safe to say that people who feel that Buckethead plays without feeling or emotions is definitely wrong.
Anyways, the reason why I'm here is that I'm wondering if anybody is in the Southern Cali area and is going to his show at the House of Blues in Anaheim. The disneyland one.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Since all of you mentioned "Crime Slunk Scene" I'll probably go for that one next. Along with the Deli Creeps album. And I've heard a few songs off of Colma & Electric Tears, I'll probably grab one of those in the near future. First I wanna get into his more rock/shred side though.
By the way after a few more listens of Praxis' "Transmutation" I'm really liking it. Don't know what the problem was that first time through.

I wrote this letter to Dr. Pepper because I was really mad about their offer. Just read this.
Dear Dr. Pepper:
Let me start this off by stating that I enjoy your product whole-heartedly. What I like even more than the smorgasbord of flavor contained within the recycleable (which is another plus, by the way!) bottle is your company itself. I admire how you are a corporation who has set themselves apart from both Coca~Cola and Pepsi. I appreciate how I can go into a Taco Bell and get a Dr. Pepper with my meal, then, go to McDonalds for dessert and with it, get a refill of Dr. Pepper. It's admirable that no matter which of the "Big Two" soft drink companies a restaurant has a contract with, your presence is still requested and enjoyed by all. You're everywhere. And I do not have a problem with that. So, that said, I suppose I can get to the reason I'm writing this email. I'm unhappy. I'm extremely unhappy, actually. Your offer to America - the one where you claim that you will give every person in America, excluding Buckethead and Slash, a free can of Dr. Pepper if "Chinese Democracy", the highly anticipated Guns N' Roses album, is released in the 2008 calendar year - makes me second guess the admiration I have for your company and product. I do understand (although I don't necessarily approve) why you excluded Slash from your offer, but I am just puzzled as to why you didn't include Buckethead in the offer. I was relieved when Axl stated that he would share his free can of Dr. Pepper with Buckethead because "some of Buckethead's performances are on Chinese Democracy", but I wasn't satisfied. Why should Buckethead have to drink a half-empty (I'm usually not a pessimist) can of soda? Because he is an ex-guitarist of Guns N' Roses? That's a stupid reason. I don't think it's fair of you to deny him a free soda. You really let me down, Dr. Pepper. Your company's product is SO unique and delicious (tasting), that I thought you would posess the ability to recognize something else, in this case Buckethead, who is also SO unique and delicious (sounding), and unite on that basis alone, but you went the distance and made an effort to exclude him. If I were him, I'd feel incredibly insulted and sad. In case you are wondering, I'm not Buckethead. I'm just a 24 year old male who feels a little ripped off by this offer. Although I am entitled to a free can of Dr. Pepper when the album is released, I will not accept it unless Buckethead is entitled to a can as well. It goes without saying that I will think twice about buying Dr. Pepper the next time I want something different than Coke or Pepsi. I'm not saying that I will never buy or drink Dr. Pepper again, in fact, I definitely will drink it again, but I don't think the patented twenty-three flavors will taste as sweet as I once remembered them to. Come on, Dr. Pepper. You're better than this.
Sincerely hopeful, Steve DiPerna

I've been thinking about it, and I think that Jordan is actually the hardest song on Guitar Hero that is a single guitar playing (And not two guitars and a keyboard like Dragonforce).

In my opinion, Jordan is harder than Through the Fire and Flames or what ever it is called. I have beaten TtFaF on Expert while I'm yet to ever beat Jordan...The only real hard part to TtFaF is the intro, rest is easy. Granted the only hard part to Jordan is the solo...I think the solo in Jordan is harder then TtFaF in all ways. I think on real guitar Jordan would be more challenging then TtFaF. Granted if you get the 7/8-finger tapping down the Jordan solo wouldn't be too hard.

Flamenco - Sketches of Spain for Miles (Electric Tears)
Bluegrass - Hog Bitch Stomp (Giant Robot NTT)
Metal - Botnus (Buckethead & Friends - Enter the Chicken)
Hip Hop - I like it Raw (Available at his website)
Acoustic - Whitewash (Colma)
Rock - King James (Crime Slunk Scene)
Relaxing - Padmasana (Electric Tears)
Hard Rock - Frozen Brains Tell No Tales (Bucketheadland Vol 2)
Ballad - Soothsayer (Crime Slunk Scene)
If you want to jump into his discography I would suggest getting Crime Slunk Scene first, it is his most traditional rock album.

Sincerely hopeful, Steve DiPernaThey might as well give one to both Slash and Buckethead, seeing as if there were no Slash, I doubt there would be much of a GNR as there is today, and without Buckethead, Chinese Democracy wouldn't have the awesome feel that it does.

When I saw him again in September I didn't get anything, but my friend did.
