Demonoid is down, but only temporarly. The CRIA didn't shut them down, apparently there was some hardware malfunction. If any of you visited the demonoid forums, you'll find they are down too. However, there are alternate forums (where everything is blue, quite freaky)

Adobe Premiere CS3

I installed the file to my C drive as I would any program...



Well I'm stuck on #3....I'm not exactly sure what I have to do
any ideas?

When I open premiere at this time it said it's expired and wont let me use the program.

You need to copy that file into the install directory and say yes when it asks if you want to overwrite. The install directory is usually something like C-Program Files-Adobe... something like that.

yea I didn't see the new dll file in my download at first but after seeing it now I'm clear on what I should be doing.

I will go searching for the original dll file now and replace it with the new one once I find it
thing is adobe premiere makes many files in the original directory so I have to try it out on a few before I can get it to work. It shouldn't be a big problem.

I dont know what you mean. If you are saying there extremly fast and get stuff long before any other torrent site. . .then yes.

If your saying there slow then your wrong. You are required to seed any torrent you download to 100% or for 36hrs and must maintain a decent ratio on the more privite sites.

i just got oink, and it's different than anything else. usually when i get torrents, it uploads while i download, which is how i keep my ratio up. now, they don't upload while it dowloads, and even after it's done downloading, it says upload speed is 0. is uploading and seeding the same thing? will this be bad for my oink ratio? how can i fix it if it needs fixed? thanks.

K, this isn't fair, Demonoid has stopped allowing Canadian users to download and seed there because of a legal issue, and now I'm up shit creek.

I would seriously do anything for an invite to a well-respected torrent site right now.

At Demonoid I had something like a ratio of 20 because I rarely downloaded a lot and constantly seeded all the time. I assure you that your invite would not go to waste.

I'm not worrying one bit about the OiNK raids. The BBC was invited along on the raid of OiNK's (the owner of the site) home, which probably means that this is nothing more than anti-filesharing propaganda and a pathetic attempt at a scare tactic.

Also, if you read some of the news reports, they really don't know jack shit about the site in general. They've made claims that OiNK requires a fee to join and download, and that the OiNK admin downloads and hosts the music on his site, both of which are a load of crap. Given the fact that they can't even get basic facts down, I highly doubt they will be intelligent enough to track down a fraction of the 180,000 users.

Next, the IFPI and BPI are private organizations who are receiving help from British police, so there's a ton of logistical intricacies involving international law and other stuff that would be an absolute bitch to work out. I doubt that they would have the time or money to legally prosecute many individual users.

Lastly, suppose they do decide to go after individual users. The only ones who get prosecuted are maybe the top-50 uploaders. They won't waste their time with the small scale downloaders such as you and I; they're going to want the major album leakers and people of that nature. Unless any of you have several hundred gigs downloaded or uploaded, I wouldn't worry. My ratio was about 35 uploaded/25 downloaded, and I'm not worrying at all.

Seriously, if any one of us is prosecuted, I'll eat my own dick and post pics for all of UG to see.

The only thing to worry about now is when OiNK's replacement will be up.

Your internet connection doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle all the bytes coming in from uTorrent. So you're probably downloading at bandwidth, so downloading small web images and text will be significantly slower.

I'm having some trouble with utorrent. When i try to download the torrent file from somewhere like torrentspy or thepiratebay, i get an error message saying

"*album file* could not be opened, because an unknown error occured. Try saving to disc first then opening the file"

So then i try saving and opening but till doesn't work. I've never had any problems with utorrent before, as I've used it for about a year with no problems. Any help?

i have waffles. they just put the new invite system in place. now only power users have invites rather than the 5GB up/down rule. power users get invites when the scripts run, which is twice a month, i think either the 1st and the 15th, or the 2nd and the 18th. you have to have 25GB uploaded and 5GB downloaded to be a power user. i just got a power user cause waffles is on a free leach because of christmas. i am going to give my first invite to my sisters bf(the guy who invited me to OiNk), and brand new, i can give you my second invite if you wish.

Well depending on how good your connection is there will be a limit on how fast you can download.
When looking for torrents try not to get the ones with a bad seeder to leecher ratio as that will usually slow down your download speed considerably.
If you think you should be downloading faster than you currently are then you may need to open some ports on your router.

Does your download speed depend on your upload speed? I'm downloading a 600 mb file and my monthly bandwidth is 20 gigs upload download combined... and I have my brother to deal with. We're at 18 gigs for this month so I can't afford to upload anything now. I put my max upload speed at 1kb/s (since you can't click "don't upload" in uTorrent anywhere), and my DL speed went to ~5kb/s. Right before it was at close to 80 kb/s and that wasn't the max since I've had some downloads at 600 kb/s.

Does your download speed depend on your upload speed? I'm downloading a 600 mb file and my monthly bandwidth is 20 gigs upload download combined... and I have my brother to deal with. We're at 18 gigs for this month so I can't afford to upload anything now. I put my max upload speed at 1kb/s (since you can't click "don't upload" in uTorrent anywhere), and my DL speed went to ~5kb/s. Right before it was at close to 80 kb/s and that wasn't the max since I've had some downloads at 600 kb/s.

Your upload speed affects your download speed in essentially two ways:

* Bittorrent peers tend to favour those other peers that upload to them. This means that if you and your friend are downloading the same torrent and you're sending data to your friend at high speed then your friend will try to return the favour by uploading to you. So a higher upload speed will increase your download rate...
* But this only works up to a certain point: when you receive data from your friend, you send back a small 'ACK' (acknowledgement). This lets your friend know that you've received the data and all is well. However if you're uploading at your maximum speed, there isn't any bandwidth left to send the ACKS and so your friend will stop sending. So this leads to poorer download speeds.

Put your upload at about 20% max and you'll get better download speed.

Does anyone want to "share" their copy of Guitar Pro? There's this tab I really want to see but the best versions are only available on Guitar Pro, and I don't feel like paying $60 for it. I checked limewire but the only result contained a trojan, so I deleted it.

Sorry if anyone has answered this already, but how long does it usually take for a new album to be uploaded?
I'm going to try to get an album thats released in Europe 5 days before the US, then buy a hard copy when it comes out here.
And if there is one, which torrent program is most popular in Europe? Or in other words, what would my best bet be?
