Either you're blind our you're just stupid. Revtt is one of the best tracker around right now, they've got great pre-release times and great speeds. I can't believe you said they don't have any good torrents, they have I Am Legend on a quality DVD Rip already!!! I'm just trying to help you out and get you into a normally invite only, Lvl 4 tracker. If you didn't like the site you didn't have to be such a dick about getting something for free.

It's a scene tracker, it's about getting new things before their release, getting good speeds, and only recent releases. Only scene torrents are allowed so theirs not that much variety, but everything is quality.

If you were looking for variety more than I'm sorry for misleading you. If you want variety than try out Bitsoup or Zamunda, they both should have open sign-ups.

Hey guys, havin some torrent troubles.

I use uTorrent, through a router, port forwarding set up.

Problem is that my torrents go through phases of working properly and phases of giving me like <10kbs.

I know my ISP blocks torrent traffic between 5pm and 11pm, but even outwith those times its playing up alot.

can anyone suggest a fix for this? what's wrong?

Try enabling protocol encryption.

Go to Options - Preferences - BitTorrent

Go to where it says Protocol Encryption. For outgoing make sure "Enabled" is chosen, if that doesn't work then try "Forced" Also, check the box where it says "Allow incoming legacy connections"

Try updating to the latest version (1.7.5) if you haven't yet.

find your max dl and up speed, make utorrents max dl 90% of your actual max, and max upload 20-50%, that should stop browsing bein throttled.

Lately my torrents have been very slow. Is there any reason for this? Does internet connection have anything to do with this as that has also been slow. I've been largely unable to connect with peers. I use Transmission, as I have a mac. If there is any help somebody could give me, it would be greatly appreciated.

It won't budge, i've got peers, and it has been like it for at least 6 hours or so. Weird thing is, when I double click any of the unfinished tracks under the Files tab in uTorrent, they all play fine in iTunes... What's going on?

I downloaded Bittorrent the other day and am a bit confused. It's running pretty slowly, often at 1 or 2 kb/s. Is this because of few seeders? Also, what are these invites I keep hearing about?

but just on torrents so i downloaded another program and it said it would cap me too if i didn't buy the liscence agreement within an hour but the other on never said that it just suddenly was capped a couple weeks ago

The torrents are usually of a higher quality (no viruses, high bitrate etc) and the download speeds are generally higher.

Hey, I seem to have a problem with my download speed. I've been trying to get a single album, "Effigy Of The Forgotten" by Suffocation on Demonoid, but it's going extremely slow. I'm using uTorrent with it, but it still stays around 1-5 kb/s. Is this normal? If not, are there any ways to fix it?

Try re-opening the torrent with your torrent client and make sure that part of the file is the NFO and that you didn't accidentally uncheck the box when you opened the torrent.

Options --> Preferences --> Connection --> Global Bandwidth Limiting.

I'd change some values in there, and look at other options. Somewhere, somehow, I remember seeing something that lets you change the maximum amount of cpu alloted.

Even with all this, I've managed to get 600 kb/s before. Ok, if the torrent only has 1 seed then that's probably your problem.

Torrents are like a big web, and each junction on the web is a computer, and the threads leading between the junctions are connections. With only one person with the complete torrent it gets harder for your computer to be connected to the seeder, or other leechers with the pieces of the torrent that you need to complete it.

A Router is just a device that lets multiple computers share one internet connection. Routers can be fussy with torrents and you need to specify which port from your computer the router will let torrent traffic through. But if you've had 600k before that doesn't sound like an issue.

I think all you can do here is either let the torrent run and hope more seeders come on (utorrent will automatically get updates from the tracker periodically, but you can force a peer request at any time by right clicking and hitting "update tracker") or find a better torrent with more seeders.

If I recall correctly, you can download shareware versions of Winzip and WinRAR that will allow you to use them indefinitely, albeit with a nagging pop-up about registering. Alternatively, you can get 7-zip which is free: http://www.7-zip.org/. Assuming you're on Windows, even WinXP comes with the ability to unzip zip files.

I'm surprised you have of the previously mentioned software... it's pretty common to find files compressed in .zip/.rar format to save space/decrease wait times.

OK, easy one here. Assuming it's a PC version of Halo...

If the file has the letters ISO somewhere in it (which I'm guessing it will), you need to do one of 2 things:

1)Burn it to CD with this (http://software.lsoft.net/Iso-burner.exe)
2)Mount it to a virtual CDROM drive, with this (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5)

Both things are easy enough to do.

Alternately, it may have RAR in it's name, in which case, you'll need to extract the files within the file you downloaded, with this (http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/wrar371.exe)

Install it, open the file, and extract the file to a folder, best bet would be a folder called Halo on the desktop.

Then, at a guess, run the SETUP.EXE file in the Halo folder, and follow the prompts.

Also, keep an eye out for anything called README. It'll have instructions on how to install the game properly.

I recently downloaded azureus to my new PC, and I am having a problem getting out of the yellow status. I am almost positively sure that it is due to my firewall, because this has never happened to me on my old PC. I am using the same router and modem, the only difference is the OS and the anti-virus/firewall. I used to use ZoneAlarm.

I'm having a Demonoid problem.

I've been a member since before the whole site going down, then not available outside US thing, and it coming back. But, until two weeks ago, I've never downloaded anything from it - not even searched for torrent.

Anyways, I downloaded a 1.2 GB file (well, collection of files in a few .rars, but it was a single torrent) from Demonoid two weeks ago. During the download, I uploaded about 600-700 MB.

Initially, it took 3-4 days for my ratio/download/upload meters on the site to change. The upload is at 4.73 MB, and download at 31.50 MB, giving me a ratio of .15. I figured that it would eventually change because the 1.2 GB torrent was downloaded over a span of 3 days, but it hasn't changed.

A few days ago I downloaded a 30 MB torrent from Demonoid. I deeded in uTorrent until yesterday, totaling almost 700 MB of upload, to try and get my ratio way up, but it hasn't changed at all. My numbers are stuck. :(

I just downloaded a whole discography off utorrent and i can't import it to itunes is this a problem with utorrent of itunes? The files are FLAC files.
EDIT: Also i'm missing .2% of blackwater park where can i get the rest?

You can't play Flac in iTunes.

OK, easy one here. Assuming it's a PC version of Halo...

If the file has the letters ISO somewhere in it (which I'm guessing it will), you need to do one of 2 things:

1)Burn it to CD with this (http://software.lsoft.net/Iso-burner.exe)
2)Mount it to a virtual CDROM drive, with this (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5)

Both things are easy enough to do.

Alternately, it may have RAR in it's name, in which case, you'll need to extract the files within the file you downloaded, with this (http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/wrar371.exe)

Install it, open the file, and extract the file to a folder, best bet would be a folder called Halo on the desktop.

Then, at a guess, run the SETUP.EXE file in the Halo folder, and follow the prompts.

Also, keep an eye out for anything called README. It'll have instructions on how to install the game properly.

im using demonoid altho i dont really undestand the whole torrent thing... speakin of which demonoid says to use port 3418 os something if i change my ports to 6881-6889 or whatever the norm is... will demonoid stop working

It's been like that ever since I downloaded uTorrent. However, today whilst downloading a different torrent than the one in the picture, the little icon turned green and my speed jumped up maybe 100 kb/s. 15 or so minutes later, it went back to yellow, and my speed decreased slowly.

It's really annoying knowing that my speeds are suffering because of this. Any help?

you can also hunt down invites for waffles.fm and what.cd, which focus on music and are very good.

Go to the speed guide (Ctrl+G) and test if port forwarding is working, submit your reesults!

They do still monitor it ;) everything you use your connection for is monitored and stored and can be accessed at any time they choose. Personally, I rent a server for uploading/seeding, that way I can seed at around 7,000kb/s (7MB/s), which is pretty handy for spreading around the latest games around sites. And it ensures your home IP address is out of the swarm, that way if you were to get caught, your ISP wouldn't know about it, since you are accessing the server remotely.

I'm afriad I don't have a pic of it uploading (I don't have a spare £20 for another month's server rent) but here is a pic of me downloading a brand new film (at the time) to upload to another scene site.

Some sites require an existing member to send you an invitation to register on private tracker, and they only have a certain number of invitations to send out (usually 3).

It's to stop people who you wouldn't want to get an account getting in.

definitely. if you've got access to a rapidshare premium account, i don't see the point about having to fuss around with seeding and extra clients when you can simply download this way. it's so much faster.
