See kids, that's what Skoal does to your teeth. :p:
He's a fairly good guitar player though.
I dip and my teeth dont look like that lol.

I thought he was pretty good, but the effect drenched tone wasn't my favorite. His playing was pretty good though, nice licks.
He would kick a lot more ass just playing with a guitar straight into a cranked Bluesbreaker though.

What is Junior Kimbrough's best album? I got meet me in the city but it seems a bit rough, can't hear the vocals and ****.
Chulahoma is great I love how Dan(? Is he the guitarist?) gets the vocal melody going on slide while he sings it in a lot of the songs, that is probably one of the things I like best out of all guitar playing. Just sounds so cool to me.
You Better Run, Most Things Haven't Worked Out, and God Knows I Tried are the only ones I could find, but they aren't even seeding anymore I think. You can AIM me if you want.

Well, right now, I am majoring in Chemical Engineering, but I'm switching to English, because math hates me.
Vagabond21
04-20-2008, 04:38 AM
My old roommate is studying to become a chemical engineer. He has 1 year left. He's gonna be makin lots and lots of moneys.
Just to put it out there I'll go ahead and tell ya what I do. I went to college for 2 and a half years. Studied some business, a little landscaping, and autocad. Ive worked for a fire sprinkler company (grunt work and construction work) every summer since I was 14. So when I was at school I became bed ridden with panic attacks (although I had no idea wtf was wrong with me). I was hallucinating and ****. It was a chemical imbalance.
I came back to Nashville, got some help, and after about 3 months I was back on my feet. I got an office job at the fire sprinkler company aforementioned, because I had autocad and field experience.
So now I have a job that can lead me somewhere. I have my own office, laptop, desk, and business cards. It's a sweet deal. I draw stuff all day.
It's kinda funny how stuff just works out.
The crazy part is is that I'm only 21. People often have a bewildered look on their face when they see me doing my job because I'm so young.
Carswell98
04-20-2008, 04:39 AM
^ I had a pretty bad bout of panic attacks and depression a while back, I had to drop 2 classes because of it

Question:
Is there much difference between the Fender Blues Deluxe and the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe?
Price wise, it's £10 or $20 difference. And I reckon the Blues Deluxe looks a whole lot nicer.
Is there much difference in tone?
imgooley
04-20-2008, 08:33 AM
Well, I played the Hot Rod Deville, and I found it to be a little too bright for my tastes. Also, the HRdeluxe has an extra gain stage, whereas the blues only has one gain stage. I played the Blues Deluxe too, and it has a way warmer tone than the vinyl fenders that I played. I prefer tweed fenders anyway.

what r some really good classic sounding distortion/fuzz pedals.
i've been looking at the Dunlop JH Fuzz Face
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Dunlop-JH-F1-Jimi-Hendrix-Fuzz-Face-Pedal-104376819-i1371742.gc
and the Electro Harmonix Big Muff
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Electro-Harmonix-USA-Big-Muff-Pi-Distortion-Sustainer-Pedal-101226793-i1124710.gc
r they both pretty good.
at the moment the Fuzz Face sounds pretty good, but i have heard alot of good things from the Big Muff

Big Muff. The Fuzz Face is too bland for me. You can tweak the Big Muff a lot more, it's cheaper, and has true bypass.

does your big muff sound good on your Vox AD50VT, cause thats what i got
imgooley
04-20-2008, 07:55 PM
Yeah, it does. The only thing is that you have to use it on certain channels. It sounds muddy on the B Clean channel and the Tweed channel. I usually use it on the AC30 channel and the Black 2x12 channel, and I roll the sustain down quite a bit. You've got to eq it right too, or it will suck your tone out.

MMMM, I love BRMC. I want to get a copy of Howl, i've got BRMC and Take Them On, On Your Own. I don't think theres any full acoustic stuff. My brothers seen them twice.
The first two albums are really different compared to Howl. I haven't heard the new album though. I think it's more like Howl. I really like their folk based stuff.
I have a "Rare and Unreleased" recording of them from Reading 2003 (I think) where they filled in for The White Stripes, and played an incredible cover of Hardest Button to Button.
TheDev01dOne
04-21-2008, 10:27 AM
Yeah they're great, I like their other stuff too but the fok/blues/rootsy stuff they do is awesome. Howl is a great album.
And Goolz I don't now any real songs in Dm I tried learning some Skip James but I can't figerpick well enough, so I just jam and invent my own grooves and it sounds really good with minor tuning for some reason. I play that BRMC song in Dm aswell but it should be in D# I think, ah well, sounds the same since I fret on the Gstring for the whole song anyway.

this is what i hope to turn my beginner strat into. a shredz0r machine since recently i've been starting to study it properly instead of listening and air-guitaring to it :p:
i'm going to get a black HSH pickguard, off thomann, 23 euro.
spray paint my body (the guitar, stoopid) with neon-ey green if my DT department has it, if not, any green will do.
i'll get new pickups, probably from the guy who's a UGer and makes them for good prices. handmade ;) custom ;) awesome ;)
then i'll get a new neck, PREFERABLE an ibanez, more shreddy, i hope they fit on my strat body. if not i'll just get a regular strat neck. HOWEVER - it has to be a maple neck :') also i'll dab teabags over and some brown kiwi shoe polish over the neck to make it vintagey :) :) :)
then i'll get some more screws since mine have all been basically broken from lying around in my cupboard for a few years.
maybe, once the basics are on, i might get locking tuners and maaayyybe a new tremelo.
that's going to cost me a fair amount of money but this guitar means to me and i want to make it yummyscrummy. hopefully you lot will appreciate it even though it's not a blues machine :p:

Depends on if it's a good slab of plywood. The glues used to make it could mess up the tone a bit though. I would still do it for the experience of modding a guitar.

i want a humbucker on the neck, i've got singles on my real strat. and i think i will use the body of this, it r personal guitar for me. besides, tbh, i'm not really as fussy about the tone as i would normally be, i just want a good project and i know by the end it'll be very satisfying. also, very nostalgic of the good ol' days ;)

Have fun. Don't get eaten by a Lynx.
I've been chased by a bear and stalked by a cougar, but never come across a lynx
edit- and I should point out that lynx aren't that big

^ I got in a big argument in the comments of that video months ago :haha
some guy was saying Jack White was both more of a bluesman, and a better guitarist than Trucks
and I didn't agree

I just read it. HIGH LARIOUSE!!!
:haha :haha
He names 3 songs, a traditional folk song (Best done by Blind Willie Johnson, I may add,) and a son house tune? :haha And then he says that The White Stripes have more bluesy songs than Trucks? :haha
Trucks played with The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND!!!
For god sakes...
I did see the Canada defense coming though (nice Hip drop by the way).

Can y'all do me a huge favor for me and my band?
My band just played a show right? and there's this thing called a wild card vote, where you go online and vote for a band and if you win you get to go to the city finals. So i was wondering if you guys could help me out and vote for my band! :)
So you gotta go to www.supernova.com and make an account as a fan, then click this link: http://www.supernova.com/shows/1721/vote and put the Tasty Jam Project, and then click vote.
It only takes about 5 mins at the most so please help us out! And you can vote once every day!
Thanks

i just thought id share that im going to go see clapton in may. ive never really been to a concert before and i think it would be nice to have my first one with the guy who made me play guitar. pretty pumped i must say.
Where you going to see him?
On Jack White, I much rather hear him play country, folk and blues music than I do his garage stuff. I'd love to hear him do an album of covers with other than Meg White, would be so much more interesting to hear him do some good covers of Bob Dylan, Blind Willie Johnson and stuff like that. :liplick:
Youtube on Firefox is pissing me off, it says:
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."
And I have downloaded the new flash player, and I have javascript turned on... Help? :(
FFS!
