I saw videos of them live, i guess the the type of screams he does on Animal is way to tiring live? So he just does like all highs.

TERRORSTORM

I prefer them over pretty much any other deathcore band, but they still get tiring after a couple songs.

It's probably because this was one of the first bands to play 'deathcore' (read: hardcore/ metallic hardcore-influenced death metal, much like TRC).

They were innovators, not imitators, like the current wave of deathcore, who have lost all touch with the music that combined to form the genre in the first place-- 90s death metal and hardcore/metalcore.

New deathcore is parts Animosity/TRC (and superficially at best), parts nu-metal, and to make it even worse, in some cases parts PsyOpus-style fretboard wankery. A poor combination, to say the least.

this band sucks live.

your crazy, theyre probably one of the most intense bands that ive seen. when they play the black page, at least when they did in atlanta, the whole venue went insane

Lappo
09-28-2009, 03:37 PM
:shrug:Lots of deathcore bands cite KoRn as an influence, as well as TRC or Animosity or whatnot. But not, say, Morbid Angel or Suffocation.

romencer17
09-28-2009, 08:13 PM
well, Animosity also cited Grateful Dead as an influence, so it only goes to show... :haha:

Monolith295

That's probably just their way of going "oooh look at how diverse our musical tastes are"

Squifey
09-28-2009, 09:42 PM
Well the Grateful Dead have some brutal jamz.

romencer17
09-28-2009, 10:20 PM
i remember in some interview they said they have heavy psychedelic influences such as hendrix, zappa, and grateful dead :haha:

to be honest, some parts do sound like deathcore jams just cause it's riffing without any real direction, just kind of going on and on

MustangMan311
09-28-2009, 10:23 PM
I don't see how that influences their music at all, but all I'm saying is that they sell Animosity bowls at shows.

GodofCheesecake
09-28-2009, 10:40 PM
Yeah, Andrew got one of those after a show in Wilmington last year and wouldn't shut up about it to Brad and Casey.

MustangMan311
09-28-2009, 10:59 PM
They also sell Animosity lighters with bottle openers on the bottom.

All I'm saying is that I don't smoke weed, but I'd smoke out of an Animosity bowl any day.

Monolith295
09-29-2009, 07:10 AM
Maybe their Grateful Dead influence comes from the merch? Bowls and now they've got a tye-dye shirt (that is admittedly very badass).

Lots of bands decide to call it quite without being petty or greedy. Knives did.
