What is the best guitar for a metal player. I play rock, classic rock, and heavy metal. It HAS to be under $300

All suggestions are welcome!

Thanks! :) :)

Ibanez GRG series, some cheap LTD guitars, i see you already have an epiphone, but i think there are some epi prophecy guitars under 300 dollars.

I recommend not buying anymore gear. You've got enough guitars for now. Focus on your playing.

Honestly I recommend upgrading your amp first

Don't get an Ibanez, the cheap one's suck.
Go used and get better amp instead.

Never mind, just saw the amp comment. Maybe a Schecter or Jackson?

how about instead of buying a new guitar, you punt your line 6 amp off of the tallest building you can find, then go out and buy yourself a decent amp.

EDIT: never mind, i read the other post...Ibanez RG series are good, some of them are under 300

Yeah go at least $400 before you think about ibanez I think thats the point where they start to make quality guitars.

You dont need a new guitar, at least not one thats so cheap. It would be a waste of money and you would not be improving on your current set up.

1) Get your amp (make sure its decent)
2) Save more money so you can get a much better guitar than anything under $300
3) You'll have a nice amp and a decent guitar at the end of it.

He means that if you buy a $300 guitar now your still gonna be at the some quality setup it wont be much better than the epi you have now so there would be no point.

He means if you buy an under $300 guitar its not gonna be better than what you already have. Therefore you should buy something else that would improve your overall tone.
Maybe new pickups in that G-400 or some nice pedals?

is a 30w amp big?

30 watts is perfect for practice alone and with others, assuming you arent playing with a loud as hell drummer. I'd suggest a 30 watt Vox amp.

Yes, if you can afford it. It may be a bit loud though
