They posted a new track on their myspace entitled 'The Marvelous Slut'. Now on top of having a sick name the track sounds really good, to me it sounds like a mix of their new and old stuff.

What do you think?

It's definitely an improvement on The Big Dirty. It sounds like Last Night In Town, but not quite as good. I'm looking forward to the album for sure.

Yeah, I wasn't too sold on The Big Dirty either. After listening to the new track another few times, I find the CD it ressembles the most as far as vocal goes is Gutter Phenomenon, but the riffs sound a bit more old school. I'm so excited to hear the rest of the album.

clicking the link, but nothing is happening.
the song was pretty good though, i wish the album aren't wasn't so similar to all the scenester band's art. it's not super close, but it's almost the same style.

this isn't the song they played live 2 weeks ago, the one i heard was much heavier, still better than the big dirty though

i wish keith would yell like he used to, as opposed to his new scream with more clean vox

lol thats a pretty general statement don't ya think?

the artwork is pretty cool
all in all i'd say this song is still probably better than anything on their last album
it's a step forward after a big step back

ya i think the reason he switched was because he hurt his voice screaming like he did on last night in town and hot damn, im not sure. really amped for the new cd even tho i dont necessarily like this track all that much. on another note keith buckley is a lyrical genius.

I like the new CD. I wish Greg Puciato had a bigger part in The Marvelous Slut though.

handbanana
09-08-2009, 07:23 PM
this cd has a few heavy parts reminiscant of last night in town, not too much clean vox like the last 2 albums, but a lot of the music still has that poppy feel the gutter phenomenon had.
Good for a play to, but like I said, not anything spectacular. Although if anything it's probably better than I had expected, not by much though

saxaxe
09-08-2009, 08:19 PM
This album really surprised me. After The Big Dirty, I was expecting a slow decline in quality from this band, but the new album is great.
And I TOTALLY missed Greg Puciato in the Marvelous Slut. I, too wish he had a bigger part.

the big dirty was terrible, topping that wasn't really that hard

i still think gutter is probably better, but all in all not a bad job
i like the fact that they brought back they're heavy element as opposed to just doing all southern rock songs like the big dirty. bd just kinda sounded like they wanted to be the bronx

dare i say this cds as good if not better than gutter phenomenon? haha its still not anywhere near last night in town or hot damn imo...those are 2 of my favorite metalcore albums ever.

"God knows I'd love to feel something but nows not the time.
Caught up in the heartless disorder of a Friday night....
I will cherish this love...for the rest of my night"

obviously about a one night stand. haha keith buckleys the man.

saxaxe
09-15-2009, 08:23 PM
I'd say it's just about on par with Gutter Phenom. Definitely not up there with Last Night in Town or Hot Damn, but yea.

Haymaker17
09-15-2009, 08:28 PM

What really sucks is apparently Keith's vocal technique on Hot Damn really did some damage on his voice, so we'll never hear vocals like that from him again.
