Hey guys,
I come to you for help, once again.
Anyways, how do I convince this band that I "joined" to listen and play some of my material (i.e. Paul Gilbert, Vai etc) I'm into. They are into bands like Lordi or something. And I have more experience with them and am technically "better" than all of them. The practically idolize me. I don't mean to brag. Please help.

Thanks!

Well if you're a cover band, they'll want to play covers.
If your an original band present it as an idea for a song.

You can't join a band and then try and change their style.
Also, Gilbert/Vai/Satch etc is cool to listen to, but a set of guitar instrumentals is suicide in a band that's attempting to be taken seriously. No-one except guitarists finds it interesting to listen to, and most of the guitarists in the crowd will just criticise you.
Unless you're an incredible guitar player - and a great showman - no one's ever going to listen. Stick to songs which have vocals; perhaps some of the more accessible Vai numbers, or a bit of Mr Big.

Sounds to me like you have it all in your hands, what with being a guitar god and all. Just tell your minons what expected of them in your band.
Honestly, you should be a bit more humble about it. Just try talking with them rather than telling all of us how freakin' awesome you are. I understand that this is how you feel, and my guess is, if you sound this arogant over the net, how is this tone percieved in person.
Find better musicians, or change your stradegy.

i think you are not as good as you think you are. And if they idolize you, they would wanna play what you wanna play, and that i clearly not the case. Just suck it up and play what you decide on, as a group. If the three of them wanna play the same song and you dont, suck it up, or if you cant, quit. Im not saying you get no say in things, but if you are outvoted, then thats that. I recomend you start writing your own songs, and then you can contribute some extremelyawsometapingz stuff, and they can contribute their parts, and luckily, the mix will be something awsome.

+1 on all this.
No offence, but you're 15 years old.
You're probably nowhere near as good as you think, and unless you grew up in a guitar shop and started learning at 6 years old, I sincerely doubt you're good enough to pull off Gilbert and Vai live.
Not an insult by any means, but you really need to learn to be a bit more humble. If the rest of the band aren't that talented, there's no way they'll cope with the seriously demanding drum/bass parts in, say, almost any instrumental song you can name.

Why are things in the original post suspiciously in quotation marks? I think you should "quit" the band and find musicians who are of the "same" level as you.
