If you don't know about it, here's abit of info on it via wikipeida haha.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punk_Goes...

Heres one of the tracks off the 'Punk goes Crunk' album.

Bands like The Maine and Forever The Sickest Kids appear on these albums which are practically pop bands yet they're being presented as punk bands playing mainstream songs.

I think its heaps of fun, some of the covers are pretty good but what do you think? Hate it, like it? Ill chuck a poll up

A good idea, but I bet that most of the covers SUCK.

The punk goes metal seems kind of dumb, I can't see how that'd really be sucessful. But the souped up pop stuff would, and I guess that the classic rock stuff would.

On the subject of punking up stuff on comps, I thought that the rocky horror punk rock show SUCKED, because most of the bands killed the vocal melodies.

I Love the link 80 version of 'Harvester Of Sorrow' on the 'Punk Goes Metal' album, thought the rest of it was piss-poor though!!

I've decided not to vote on the poll because there aren't any options that reflect my opinion.

Sound familiar? :p:

But yeah, I am ambivalent towards them.

I don't really want to listen to bands I don't like covering music I don't like. Can't say I'm a fan.

Me too.

And where's the "I've never cared less about anything" option?

There's been a few songs off of them I've enjoyed, but overall they're all terrible albums and they should really change the name.. I mean I honestly would consider Oingo Boingo more punk than A Thorn For Every Heart who covers them.

Not punk bands, not punk songs.

My sister bought me punk goes crunk for my birthday last year...I didnt like it, but she thought it was great when she listened to it

 i guess its just a catchy cd title

I think we discussed these cds when I made the thread about switching it around and making poppy songs from punk songs. The idea never went anywhere, though.

They aren't good

On the subject of punking up stuff on comps, I thought that the rocky horror punk rock show SUCKED, because most of the bands killed the vocal melodies.

It was pretty bad overall, but The Phenomenauts' version of Hot Patootie was good and Big D's version of Once In Awhile was alright.
