Mommys Little Monster is a monster of a song (he, i made a funny). I love it.

I realise that they sort of branch over to metal, but they are basically a punk band (even if they are "horror punk"), is The Murderdolls, Wednesay 13, and Frankenstein Drag Queens Form Planet 13.

So here Goes:

Band- Murderdolls
Album-Beyond the valley of the Murderdolls
Song-(agreed) mommys Little Monster
Musician-Wednesday 13

Lol, sorry I'm so boring :(

Not really. Jawbreaker and Jets To Brazil are collectively my favorite band (I've always thought of JTB as an extension of Dear You-era Jawbreaker anyways). With them being my favorite bands and all I think its only natural for my favorite albums and songs to be by them.

While I very much enjoy both, I think Jets to Brazil are completely different from Jawbreaker, and I'll fist fight anyone who thinks otherwise.

Not to mention Jets to Brazil aren't even punk!

Also, I'd consider Bivouac and/or 24 Hour Revenge Therapy to be Jawbreaker's magnum opus, but I wouldn't fist fight you over that.

Dear You is my favorite Jawbreaker album too. Actually my list is the same as yours except the songs. For Jawbreaker, it's Sluttering, and for Jets To Brazil it's Mid-Day Anonymous or King Medicine.

I agree with Sluttering.

I, however, think 24 Hour is a better album, and I'd choose either "I Typed for Miles" or "Further North" for best JtB song.

neidnarb11890
03-19-2010, 05:21 PM
24 Hour Revenge Therapy will always be my favorite album, but I've grown to love Bivouac as well. To me those two albums are the Golden Age of Jawbreaker. I mean, I like Dear You as well, but I dunno. Depending upon what mood I'm in I may or may not prefer Unfun to it. But 24 Hours & Bivouac are always great.

I'm agreeing with nashawa on "I Typed For Miles" being one of the best, although "Starry Configurations" or "Lemon Yellow Black" might be my favorite.

Although, that being said, I've only listened to Perfecting Loneliness once so far.

My order changes constantly. One week Dear You will be my favorite, and the next it will be Unfun. I always skip "Starry Configurations."

Green Day's older music is about 50% punk. Pinhead Gunpowder is like 90%. So on average he's about 70% punk. 75% or more would be preferable, but if it's 66% or more we let it slide.

Album: Musical Monkey (Guttermouth) - I don't feel like explaining.

Musician: Greg Bergdorf (Zebrahead) - He manages to put great guitar work into pretty good songs. The band would not be good without him.

Song: This is really hard to decide. I might go with "Do the Hustle" by Guttermouth, or "Hulk Hogan" by Skankin' Pickle.

^I think you just have to look at "T" and mark that Toxic Narcotic, The Toasters and Peter and the Test Tube Babies are quite different.
There are people who care for the stuff they listen to and look into bands that aren´t known by MTV and there are people who think that listening to Metallica and the Foo Fighters makes them open minded, not keeping in mind that their musicial taste is imposed by media. "I listen to everything between grindcore and RnB" isn´t a taste and when we ask for best punk band we don´t want to hear non punk band and if you don´t accept that you should maybe change the forum.

Lets take 3 bands off of Dempseys favorites list at random
Flux of Pink Indians, Johnny Cash, Choking Victim - Now all I'd say (and anyone who knows anything about music would say) that those are three pretty diverse bands.

Now your turn
Metallica, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine - HMMMMMM first off Metallica is a really really shitty band (as are the other two) but even putting that aside, Trivium and BFMV are both basically giant f*cking rip-offs of Metallica. All 3 of them are basically the same shitty band. That's not very diverse at all maaannnn

Sorry pal, "big" is not synonymous with good. Metallica is a shitty shitty band and if you didn't agree you wouldn't be changing your "favorite music" to hide the embarrassment. Also Black Flag is a hardcore punk band, not a hardcore band, there is a difference.

Album - Dookie
Aong - tough one, either Basket Case, Holiday in Cambodia, or Jackie is a punk
Artist - again, it's a tough one, so I'll say a tie between Johnny Ramone, Joey Ramone, and Sid Vicious

Sid was actually a good singer too. Even though he had that heroin drawl.

I wouldn't call him a good singer at all. A passable punx singer, of course. He reminds me of Dee Dee Ramone just a little bit.
