Only happened to me in 2 songs: No One Wished to Settle Here by Mouth of the Architect, and Mayday by The Icarus Account.

I guess they both happened to catch me in the right mood, and along with both song's lyrics, just hit me in a way. Its weird though because it doesn't usually happened. Only happened to me the first time i heard both.

lyrics that really caught me in both

MOTA -
Rise and fall
Collapse and crawl
To carry the weight
To carry the weight of
Everything

Icarus Account -
Tell me that you're going to save me
That everything is gonna be ok
I'm screaming but nobody can hear me
Can you save me from myself?
Mayday Mayday Mayday

What about you? Any sad/happy tears shed from a song you've listened to?

She came home for christmas - Mew

Mew is a Danish band, and there album Frangers was a big succes back in like 03.
Very emotinal and beautifull song. Had Just broken up with a girl whilest listening to it..

But i think music carries the power to make us feel things and get emotionally touched. Just beacause the artist has involved feeling into the creation of the song.

Your Decision by Alice in Chains. I was going through a really tough time a few months ago when that album came out, and that song probably saved me from an unending depression. That song and Black Gives Way to Blue are both tear-jerkers for me. After that, I'd have to say Dying Youth and Proud of You by 10 Years. Absolutely beautiful songs and extremely vivid.

Hmm... Freddie Mercury's "A Winter's Tale" makes me pretty emotional, it being the last song before he died. He may have been a messed up man but he was an extraordinary singer and songwriter. Long live Queen...

"Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle is very emotional too. For some reason, it gets me every time and just gives me the chills.

I think those are the only two I couldn't resist shedding a tear with. xD The Fray has some pretty heartfelt pieces too, but I've yet to literally cry on any of them (keyword: /yet/ xD) although I must admit I've come close to tears on "Never Say Never" before.

no, but Black by Pearl Jam comes close....

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life,
I know you'll be a sun in somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, can't it be mine

Also, Collapse the Light Into Earth by Porcupine Tree.

I won't shiver in the cold
I won't let the shadows take their toll
I won't cover my head in the dark
And I won't forget you when we part

Collapse the Light Into Earth

I won't heal given time
I won't try to change your mind
I won't feel better in the cold light of day
but I wouldn't stop you if you wanted to stay

Collapse the Light Into Earth

The other day I was overcome w/ emotions.
my whole fiance leaving me, outta work, outta smokes, best friend move 300 miles away to san fransisco, in general a shitty couple of months, and a really shitty week.

This song came on

All I Wanted - Paramore

these lyrics hit home

I could follow you to the beginning
And just relive the start
And maybe then we'll remember to slow down
To all of our favorite parts

Gotta say, I balled up like a baby during the night.
Nothing like coming home to a completely empty bed.
