Purple Haze - 12 bar?

I seem to think that its not, whereas a friend of mine thinks the opposite.

My reasoning for it not being 12 bar is that the chord progression repeats once every 4 bars.

His reasoning is that it has a minor blues chord progression.

Which of us is right, guys?

It's not a 12 bar. "12 bar blues" is a specific format of I I I I, IV IV I I, V IV I I.

well tell him that not only is it now a 12 bar blues, but there arent any minor chords in it so im not sure what hes talking about there. 12 bar blues as mentioned has a specific formula. he might have a case if it followed a I IV V progression of some sort but it doesnt even do that.
