What kind of guitar is this guy using that makes these really nice sounds? It is like a semi-acoustic guitar or something? Sry I'm a total noob with guitars, but I really want to know what type of guitar it is. Theres no need to identify the model of the guitar or the maker of the guitar, just the type of guitar being used. Thanks so much guys.

Is it just called an acoustic guitar? I've got an acoustic guitar, but it sounds nothing like that. Is there something that you have to add onto the acoustic guitar to create that sound?

Type of strings. Also, he's fingerpicking.

Ok, so its the strings that are the source of this different sound on acoustic guitars. Do you have any idea what type of strings these are? I really want to buy them asap its music to my ears. Thanks for the replies so far guys ^^

Honestly? Those strings just sound dead. :p: There's nothing wrong with liking the tone of dead strings but the only way you can get them is to buy new strings and just play them. Preferably by uncoated strings so they die faster.

EDIT: It also looks like he has insanely long finger nails, and if he's using those to pick with instead of his actual fingertips, the tone will sound sharper, as your fingers are padded and can dampen the sound.

So its just a normal regular acoustic guitar?! O_o it can't be, it sounds so much different compared to the usual acoustic guitars that I've heard or had before. There's like this blunted twanging noise in his guitar which is really music to my ears o.o

Anyway I found a better video that can demonstrate this sound better, both visually and audioally (is that even a word..)

The tone in that video sounds very different.

Each acoustic is going to have it's own tone. The main factors are going to be the shape, the type of wood used, the construction, the strings, etc.

In that last video the strings sound newer, but he's also still fingerpicking, and that has alot to do with tone. Also, the blunted twanging in the first video could be summed up to dead strings and using fingernails as dead strings sound less bright (blunt) and fingernails sound sharper (twang).
