Need ideas on how to progress this further, been bugging me for weeks!

Wow, I really really enjoyed that whole intro section, very nice! I suggest you stray away from that section a little earlier though. A nice song structure would be: that sweetass intro you have -> a very short clean transition or something -> some djenty heavy riffs -> a clean break -> a reprise of that intro, as an epic outro

I agree the intro could be recycled to make an awesome ending. Other than that it was fantastic. It flows and grooves really well without getting boring or repetitive.

hm.. maybe you could try to apply the "movement" in your rhythm also to your melodies?
