Second album just came out, and so far, it's a little bit less post-hardcore than their first. The atmosphere has been kept intact, though.
A couple songs from the new album:

I've actually tried to give them a chance, but just like PTV and the other bands of this genre, I don't find them captivating. They don't hold my interest long enough to grow attached to them.
The only bands somewhat related to this style I like are Dance Gavin Dance, Closure in Moscow, and The Fall of Troy, and they're all pretty removed.

Dance, Closure, and Fall don't really remind me of these guys at all.
Even Pierce the Veil is a step above with their instrumentals.

These kind of bands have a tendency to wind up in the related videos on youtube and stuff, and that's why I said that they're removed. But I do see some similarities.
But I prefer these bands to the bands that think that techno breakdowns are cool.

When did techno breakdowns become not cool?

I enjoy some things about this band, such as their lyrics and the vocalist's voice, but i just can't really get into them. Maybe the new album will be different

I was pretty let down by this album. I loved their first album, the title song is epic. And personally I think they're one of the better bands out there lyrically but I was hoping they would retain some of the post-hardcore elements that they had in the first album. Maybe it'll grow on me, who knows... anyways if you like Kellin's voice, check out the guest vocals he did with At The Skyline, the song's called The Amazing Atom.
As for the comparison to the other bands, I can see why ppl would group them together even if they're not in the same genre or anything.
