So yeah, this band is awesome. I know what you're thinking, that mixture of musicians is just plain weird, but this band ****in kills. Andy Hurley from FOB is on drums, and Greg from Mis Sigs just joined them. They're really fast, thrashy, pissed off hardcore.

Just check em out here: http://www.facebook.com/enablermke There aren't any good youtube videos of them that I can find.

On FOB's last album, their drummer couldn't play any of the lines he made, so the managers brought in another guy to do it for him.

Enabler sounds mainstream and boring.

Really? I was always under the impression Andy Hurley was a hXc bro/decent at drums.

I'll listen to this when I get home.

Fall Out boy's parts on their earlier albums were more complex than on Folie A Deux.

That makes no sense.

It's catchy, but it sounds really uninspiring and generic. Vocals sound boring and have no character or defineable quality and the guitar tone sounds like Darkest Hour's tone.

Don't care for it.

Kyle<3
01-04-2012, 02:39 PM
I don't think it sounds too generic, but then again I don't really listen to much of this kinda of hardcore.

Having to "like" a facebook page in order to listen to a song is never a good start. Also the guitar solo thing at the start of the first song sucked. Other than that, it's been ok. Nothing groundbreaking. If I ever got tired of Hope Con I'd probably listen to this a fair bit.

Annihilator666

These guys have a Bandcamp page, don't they?

Anyways, nothing special here. They're not bad or anything, but there's tons of bands who do what they're doing waaaay better. And I completely agree about "liking" a band on Facebook to hear their music. I've never understood why bands do that.

Agreed.

This is respectable. Andy Hurley is a bad ass drummer.

One of these guys was also in Harlots back in the day. I'd rather just listen to Harlots, personally. Also, having to like a band's page to hear the music is the default option for one of the standard Facebook music players. I'm sure that's what happened to these guys.

Not true, I've made more than one page, and this isn't the case!

First Pat Stump shows up on a Weekend Nachos track, now this. I have to say, (half of) FOB is doing well for themselves.

Also they're apparently playing in my city on the 13th, totally gonna go.

Are you guys seriously not aware that the members of FOB used to be in various metalcore/hardcore bands? I mean, shit, Hurley played drums for Earth Crisis on their last tour.

And Joe also sings on a WN song. I don't know the name, but it's the one that's so obviously written (hatefully) about FOB.

And Andy played drums in a bunch of pv/hxc bands, I think he was in Vegan Reich for a brief time.

They also started as a vegan straight edge band.

Why did Andy have to form Enabler, Burning Empire and Fucked & Failing? Those three bands sound exactly the same.

Looking at FC's roster, Andy is in 4/6 bands, and if/when MisSigs drummer leaves them, he'll join them too. The only non-Andy Hurley/Stu Ross band looks like metal dudes at a Phish Concert.

blake1221

1) We're not pop punk any más. More post rock/post hardcore.
2) This gig is with a different band that I started playing bass in.

Really liked it, although I think the levels might need adjusting on some of the tracks, for instance on Shift of Redemption, lead guitar was too quiet and the vocals were drowned out a bit imo.

Still think the debut is the best thing they've done so far.
