Guys and Girls,

First of all, hi to everyone!! I've been lurking on these forums but finally decided to post something and feel this is the right area for my question however if I'm in the wrong place then just say and I'll shift by butt over to the right place!

I'm currently running a Line6 UX1 into my PC as due not being able to play through an Amp I use this. Its perfect as I can plug in my headphones, play as loud as I can handle without pissing off family members - I can also use it for recording into my PC.

My predicament is this: I'm looking at upgrading my 'rig'. I was looking at buying a new Amp (as currently I dont have one) and some how running it through my PC via an Audio Interface (I've read loads of posts regarding similar requests where people say how you can fry components in your computer because of this). The most important thing is that whatever I upgrade, I can play through my headphones - not through a mic on a boomstand next to my amp.

Does anyone know of any setups where I can either buy an amp and somehow run my headphones and guitar into my PC with some software that'll allow me to record?

Either that or some Audio Interface that would substitute an Amp where I can connect it into my PC, run my guitar and headphones into it then into my PC? I've read about Focusrite stuff and not sure if that's what I'm looking for?

Sorry if this has been covered, I've checked a lot of forums and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for and more importantly, I hope it makes sense :)

Indeed you should shift your butt over (, this ( is your place for amp questions and right here ( is a place for recording inquiries.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!
