Gosh I hate that CD so bad, so why did I listen to it today? hmmm.

Breakdowns are overrated, comeback kid's Turn it around has some good breakdowns, but better yet it has some good songs. The new Donnybrook! cd has some good ones. Uh, Terror... I'm being vague I know, but for me it's all about the song. Some of my fav. hardcore bands don't use breakdowns at all.

What's funny is that Unearth has a song called False Idols that's way better than Throwdown's (personal opinion), and has my personal all-time favorite breakdown. Not like I have a list, but they usually bore me, and I really like that one. :)

3. Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste - "now your doing the waltz with your murder - 1:41 - 2:06

If anybody knows a band called these silhouettes, i like the breakdown in their song dont breathe a word, they arent a hardcore band but i love that breakdown.

I know im probably gonna get teared apart for this, but silverstein-smile in your sleep, i like how they have the beginning of the breakdown then they slow the breakdown right down and have the other guitarist playing the other riff.

technicolour

They all sound the same, and since there's so many, a huge amount suck.

I'd say the end of Defiling the Sepulcher of Christ by Vornagar. Pretty fast for a breakdown, but I love the rythme.

Vornagar is actually metal but w/e.

And I forgot about Beneath the Massacre, they're the only band I beleive that is aloud to play as many breakdowns as they want because the rest of their songs are so technical.

My favorite breakdown is the last one that will ever be played before people realize that breakdowns are lame.

uhhh i should shoot you in the face... Breakdowns arnt really much differnt than a bridge in a song. and in alot of songs for the bridges there are guitar solos and such. so explain to me how a 3 minute guitar solo isnt any more a waste of time then a breakdown.
and my fav breakdown
Killswitch Engage - Life to Lifeless

Because An open chord strummed in a triplet pattern for 3 minutes is quite boring. That is the typical breakdown, some are better than others.

I agree with you somewhat. There are a good amount of bands that have bland open chord breakdowns but then there are a lot that integrate them well and get creative with them.

Two of my favorites::

KSE "My Last Serenade" 2:06 - 2:24

Invocation Of Nehek "The Decay" 2:55 - end
