um... this thread was posted like 10 seconds ago... and why is this in bass guitar...?

but again, generally bc rich sucks until you get to the nj series, jackson and Ibanez are far better for metal and rock

It depends on what series you get. Bronze are the worst, and i dont know what the best are.

I have the Kerry King Warlock. Its awesome but in general B.C Rich does suck. Well they aren't bad for a player who has been playing for about a year or so. But i love my warlock i think its the best out of all the warlocks great for any type of metal and its got a heavy. Fast neck too. I have heard the beast series is good and the Nj. Yeah the bronze serises sucks. Good Luck!

I've heard bad things about BC Rich guitars and basses. But my music store has a BC Rich Beast there and I tried it out and it didnt sound too bad. It had one basic deep tone, sounded good but you couldn't really get any other tone outta it from the electronics but a good bass amp can do that for it.

The sound seemed like it was only good for heavy rock and metal and of course, those are the only genres the BC Rich Beast looks good for too.

Um, if you REALLY want that shape, save up for a (preferably older) NJ model. Everything else is hardened, polished and buffed shit.

I was planning on purchasing a BC Rich Bronze Warlock Bass as my first bass in a few days..whats bad about them? I really like the look, and I haven't really heard any specific reasons why they're bad. Thanks

Um, it's quite literally hardened cow crap.

Get a Squier, a Yamaha, a Cort (You can get a Cort Action on ebay for 99 bucks BIN, they're good and worth it)

um, but what exactly about them is bad? I'm just wondering. And other places when I'd wanted different ones people had said not to get either a squier or a yamaha, and ive never heard of cort, and since they're so cheap it's kind of odd..

so, whats wrong with warlocks?

Bad pickups, bad wood, bad assembly, the bronze series is made of agathis or plywood, and just generally feel like theyr'e not good. I mean, fi you like BC RIch shapes, fine, but at least get one that's worht it. Bronzes are not.

Yamaha is the way to go, baby. Have a look at the RBX series. Incredibly basses for the price you pay.

the other RBX's are too expensive. I have more money than that to spend though..up to like $250 max probably..

and I like heavy metal sounding basses

so..help
