dude its called screamo, and KsE is awsome because of the kick ass guitars and its not all JUST screaming, the lead singer can actually sing, but stuff before The End Of Heartache has crappy non-screaming parts because of the old singer.

ok, um... i heard that Haste The Day's singer and Atreyu's singer sounds like a duck! i do like both bands however. um... if you wanna know the best scream ever, i mean, this scream is absolutely orgasmickal!!! ok, its this guest singer named Vallarie or sumthing like that and shes on Avenged Sevenfold's first album, Sounding The Seventh Trumpet on The Art Of Subconscious Illusion.

and this has been stated before but FBTMOF's singer(s) is/are pretty good. um, also Officer Negative/The Death Campaign's (i forget wut they are called now...) singer is really good too.

not to sound elitist or that i know about hardcore more than anyone but i usually catch that and i didnt this time...i guess cause i got caught up in reading that stuff and i myself put hardcore/metalcore....i'm a dumbass...but lets not confuse the thread starter with the technicalities....but ok fine the best band that is in the tight girl pants wearing scene with a good growl is from a second story winndow

I answered this thread seriously because apparently the guy is new to hardcore and obviously has no idea what he's talking about. It seemed to me that he simply wanted some band suggestions, and since I didn't feel like being an elitist cockbag, I humored his request. Lighten up; give the guy a break.

Just curious: would you care to enlighten us as to what hardcore really is since we don't know?

well judging from live performances..... the dude from Norma Jean was alright... i mean i dont really see the stature people are giving him.
the guy from Unearth is an excellent screamer.
but i dont see why more people dont say Randy Blythe. I mean he can do like 5-6 different scream/outword growls. all the other bands like norma jean/underoath etc have that same repitious scream that bugs the **** outta me.

i wouldnt call them them hardxcore but more along the lines of modern rock, but zach de la rocha from rage against the machine has a righteous scream. on the self titled he let loose a bunch of simply raw screams at the climaxes and it is just orgasmic. it's all in the way he just goes for it. no "making the sound" he fucking screams! and it is fucking awesome.

the red chord kicks ass. but not hardcore
as well as black dahlia murder.same circumstances
and the person who said maevolent creation on the first page.wow.that was just completely unbright. malevolent creation, definitely not hardcore

he is legend. yes definitely.
but all together
jamey jasta. from hatebreed. sure sure go ahead and say it he has the "mediocre" hardcore voice. but a good portion of todays hardcore comes from that and it seems like he does it with such passion. like he actually loves to do it more than living itself.

Randy Blythe in that he has a very unique voice(i think) because hes not always screaming, it sounds live and on the CD's that alot of the time when hes not actually like sustaining a scream, hes like almost talking with a lot of **** in his throat(in a good way). He can shriek like a bad ass too(BTP, "Break You"). Marcus Bischoff from Heaven Shall Burn has got killer vox, he sounds inhuman.

ok the guy from as i lay dying is the best. i dont care what anyone else says. he can sing and scream. and his screaming is very versatile too. if you have only listen to shadows are security then you have to listen to frail words collapse. that CD has some of the best vocals i have ever heard. if you dont believe me then listen to it. not jsut one song..not jsut parts of each song.. the whole CD.

and i know this is goin to sound stupid and the guy isnt even in hardcore, but what about the guys voice from Linkin park. i think he is pretty good evn though its not hardcore.

Tim Lambisis(As I Lay Dying) does not sing. The bassist does. Chester(Linkin Park) has a decent scream but he wouldnt have gotten anywhere without Mike Shinoto(sp?). Mike rights all of the vocal parts including Chesters. I dont really care for Chesters scream cause he sounds like hes trying to drop a turd. I call it the "constapated scream".

P.S. Dan Weyandt(Zao) still has the best scream ever.

brian fair has a sweet scream/shout/yell from shadows fall, and his rhythm guitarist matt bachand has a sweet growl, and jon donais does a raw vocals thing, just listen to thoughts without words by shadows fall

Daniel Weyandt of Zao, Schuyler of He Is Legend, Dee Prescott of I Hate Sally, Josh Scogin of Norma Jean (bless the martyr) and The Chariot, Dallas (ex) Underoath. ateryu is terrible. In Reverent Fear, As I Lay Dying, Alexisonfire, Curl Up And Die, FBTMOF, they are all great with vocals.

This is rediculous. Hardcore has nothing to do with screaming or growling. Listen to like minor threat. Screams can't be 'the most hardcore'
And most of the bands listed were metalcore anyways

Don't be an elitist.
Hardcore music has screams, yells, growls, yelps...anything the band wants to be heard.

Back on topic: frontmen of Dead To Fall, August Burns Red, Through the Eyes of The Dead and From A Second Story Window are the most epic/br00tal to me.

i change my vote to josh as well....not only is ABSOLUTELY MINIMAL processing done on his voice in the recording, mixing, AND mastering process, but he also refuses to do more than one take for a song....AMAZING....natural talent at its best

I got ya a great list right here,no matter what your into

Hardcore:
Cory Putnam:- Norma Jean
Josh Scogin:- Ex-Norma Jean, The Chariot
The guy from Throwdown
hmmm...let me see.
Real underground is kinda hard to pin a screamer on, cuz they all pretty much sound the same. Low guttural growls.
Jamey Jasta from hatebreed seems to get alot of recognition, but I don't think he's THAT good.

Metalcore:
Tim lambesis: As I Lay Dying
Howard Jones: Killswitch Engage
Hmmm...

Well hell I'll just name you some bands with good screamers, I'll let you decide from there.

Chiodos-kinda high pitched but good
Every Time I die- more southern rock, but still killer
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster- Old Underoath singer's new band
Senses Fail-Maybe Emocore, but who cares?
Haste the Day
As Cities Burn
Atreyu - unique screaming, doesn't sound like many others.
Emery
the Used
The Bled
This is hell
It Dies Today
Mudvayne - I know, sorta nu metal, but hes got a good voice, nice scream
Fight Like Hell - no Cd's out yet, but they do kick ass.

Well I hope I got you some help there. These are all my opinions, but they do stretch over a broad genre of music.

Schizopathic
06-17-2006, 02:03 AM
Ok, this is completely out the genre.....but Maynard James Keenan from Tool has got an amazing set of ****ing vocal chords. Most new rock kids associate him with A Perfect Circle, but APC doesn't have **** on Tool.
