HendrixEdge
10-19-2005, 12:41 PM
Everything from Rave to Rap, Jazz to the Funk, Modern Rock, Classic Rock, Alt/ Indie, Classical, Flamenco, Folk, Prog, Industrial, Blues, Pop, Ambient, David Bowie's Station To Station counts as a musical genre all on it's own imo etc. etc.

The only genres thus far that I don't appreciate much are Hair Metal and Pop Punk, well imo they're the lowest of the low. But really I don't care.

xX*Zeppelin*Xx
10-19-2005, 12:58 PM

hardrock1315
11-05-2005, 01:16 AM
I listen to a bit of grunge, plenty of classic rock, a little metal (nothing to heavy - Pantera is my heaviness limit), lots and lots of punk (most genres of it - not just "old-school" - hardcore, 77, streetpunk, non-racist oi, a little crust, etc.), real pop-punk (The Ramones, the Queers, etc., not Blink-182 or that stuff - that's pop-rock), a tiny bit of 80s stuff (just really GNR and VH), blues, jazz, some rap, funk, reggae, 1st and 2nd wave ska, classical, and I listen to Weezer and Rid of Me, my 2 emo bands.

Do you realize that you only put rock styles on your poll?

Tarakoch
11-05-2005, 09:17 AM
Almost anything as long as it is the 'other' option. E.g. progressive metal, gypsy, jazz, blues, classical, experimental.

JkHalen
11-05-2005, 09:41 AM
Van Halen is Classic Rock..not "80's metal+hair metal"...anyways, i listen to classic, "80's metal+hair", and heavy metal...so it was hard :) went for the 80's :peace:

I checked them all.

For "Emo", I checked it assuming real emo was included (Sunny Day Real Estate, Rites of Spring, etc)

For pop-punk, I only really listen to early Green Day, Buzzcocks and all that, but enough to warrant a check.

I <3 my indie and alternative.

For "other", I could well be the biggest hip-hop and electronica fan on this entire website.

I listen to bands and artists that fall into all the categories, although I listen to some a lot more than others. I'm not a guy who claims to listen to "everything", because I'm mostly a rock fan, but I try to keep an open mind (and ear).
