Okay, The Steve Miller Band was awesome in the 70s. Hits like "Take The Money And Run", "Abracadabra", "Rockin' Me Baby", "The Joker", "Fly Like An Eagle", and "Jet Airliner" were awesome songs, yet Steve Miller has recieved 0 posts to my knowledge of the classic rock forum(maybe there were 500 when I was gone, I don't know) but it seems like we should give him some credit...and his own post.

I love Steve Miller. An underappriciated guitarist and good song writer. I love the bluesy / southern accent on his stuff like Rock' in me baby." I wonder what happended to him? I guess he is still playing.

From what I heard he was like a guitar prodigy type, playing in bands in his early teens and never looking back. Is that true?

^No idea, but back in the day, after he thought his rock career was over, he tried to go blues style, but he realized that people still loved his old stuff, so I think he may still tour today.

I saw him this past summer... he and his band put on an awesome performance... great catchy rock and roll songs! He is also a great guitarist... I heard he took lessons from Les Paul as a kid because they were neighbors...?

I really like what I've heard. Lots of random effects everywhere, but still, I like it.

Not only has he written some catchy, radio-friendly tunes, but he's also got some other stuff that's real laid-back and bluesy.

My favorite song by him is "The Stake", which is, from what I've heard by him, one of his more blusier songs. It's really great, and definetly worth being listened to.
