Sublime is kind of a one of a kind, unless you actualyl want ska or reggae.

I think there is a band called the dub city allstars that are made up of a couple guys from sublime. Other than that I got nothing.

There's a band called Pepper, they're out of Hawaii. They have the ska/rock feel to their music and really reminded me of sublime when I first listened to them.

Sublime is kind of a one of a kind, unless you actualyl want ska or reggae.

Actually they have spawned COUNTLESS clones.

Including:

Slightly Stoopid (I don't really like them)
Long Beach Short Bus
Long Beach Dub All Stars (Bud and Eric are actually in that band)
Pepper (I actually like these guys)

Check out the Sublime Archive, or all those DIY labels in the long beach area. i.e. SKUNK records.

Still, no one sounds like Sublime.

The Expendables, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper are all really close. The Expendables are the best out of those three. plus go here: www.myspace.com/thetranquils

He's merely stating an opinion, calm down. But, I do happen to agree with him, most ska sounding music in fact should go in the pop area, because it sounds poppy. But, since people seem to think being in the pop area means you sold out, everyone becomes a whiny bitch when you suggest that sublime shoudlnt be here.

Well then it's a good thing nobody in here flames anybody else for giving an opinion like "green day belong in the punk forum."

I know the guitarist/singer a little bit, nice guy. They're not that much like Sublime but theres similarites and you'll probably like them anyway because they're great.

i would check out 311, but idk they're compared and somewhat similar to sublime. im just suggesting it, because alot of people who like sublime also happen to like 311, but im just throwing it out there.

but honestly, you're not going to find any other band that really sounds like sublime.. brad was just creative, down to earth.. if you listen to any of their live shows (not live albums) you get a completely different feeling of who they were. watch their documentary, its like you get a feeling listening to them. over the summer, i'd put on the firecracker lounge show, and just chill out on my bed next to the window looking and listening to sublime. and idk how to explain it, but that whole 'raw drunken emotion' he puts into his music is something i cant really explain.

There is Badfish...it's a tribute band to Sublime, and they sound just like them! If you're in NYC this friday, they are playing at the Brooklyn Bowl at 10:30pm. I'm definitely planning on going, to hear them play, and to go bowling (two-for-one deal), tickets are about $15, and it's gonna be awesome. I found out about this from cegpresents.com, and they have a whole heck of a lot of stuff coming up, just thought I'd mention it to ya. ^_^

There's a difference between bumping a thread where the last post was 4 years ago to give advice to someone who doesn't even come here any more and bumping a thread where the last post was an hour ago to tell the person not to bump 4 year old threads.
