Which bands do you love that no one seems to have heard of.

I like Nuclear Rabbit, Sausage, Residents and probably more but I'm too tired to write much. Hope I find some new bands from this :)

I don't have any bands I like that no one's heard of because biles here ^ has heard every band to ever grace the face of the Earth.

But I guess for a few "obscure" ones: I Am Kloot, Songs: Ohia, John Vanderslice, The Sea and Cake, Oneida, Okkervil River, etc., etc.....

And I though Dispatch was pretty popular

And you know it's true, the day a band is mentioned you haven't heard of is the same day fire-breathing pigs fly out of the Pope's ass and Conor Oberst stops being a twat.

The day Conor stops being a twat is never!
It's from having spent too much time talking about music to people and from spending too much money.
(I tend to keep schtum on the threads about bands I haven't heard of - although some threads I just ignore due to repetition of them)

I don't really know that many bands that no-one's heard of, guess I'm too mainstream

But I think some people have probably heard of Towers Of London and The Suffrajets. But some local (ish) bands I like are the God's Directors, Quatro And, Self-Inflicted (formerly Evolution) & Kill Freeman Faculty (they rock hard).

Can't say I have. When (if) they come over I'll try my best to get tickets.

Ladytron
Black Wire
!!!
Moving Units (Kinda big now... but not 2 years ago when I became a fan)
The Warriors

Not heard of The Warriors, but other than that, yeah....
Some good stuff. The latest Ladytron album's pretty good. Had the Moving Units album for at least a year now, great, dancable album. Mewithoutyou are pretty average (in my opinion), but there's quite a few people in the pop-punk & emo forum who like them. Black Wire are alright as well, but just haven't done it for me in the way that they could've. !!! are pretty big, not in the commercial sense of having their videos on the whole time and getting a lot of radio play, but a lot of people know of them. The Yah Mos (a previous band of !!! memebers) are worth a listen as well if you like !!!, they're a bit heavier from what I remember, but a strong album (came across it in a bundle vinyl purchase from ebay).

I have a Dragonforce CD, and it is pretty awesome. I don't think they're that unknown. I've also heard some mewithoutYou.

As for bands I like that no one has heard of:

Bedroom Heroes (although I made a post about them on here once)
Konono No 1
Oh and a bunch of Latin stuff (Tercer Mundo, Cruks en Karnak, etc.)

There are probably more but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

My favorite-band in the whole world is japanese garage/rock/punk Thee Michelle Gun Elephant. It's kinda sad that nobody knows who they are, they played from '89 and broke up in 2003 after 7 albums + EP's.

You can read more about them here: http://projectj.net/tmge.htm
And you can get some free soundclips here: http://us.share.geocities.com/alessandroaiello/tmge.swf

For some reason not too popular in north america, but was #1 for a while in australia. It's an acoustic album... I guess sort of Jack Johnson style? But better vocals and the guitar is alright, really fun to play.

i also like nuclear rabbit and mr bungle...they're pretty well-known though...

Pain of Salvation is also amazing and very few people seem to know about them around here...They're extremely famous compared to other bands that "no one knows about." Daniel Gildenlow (singer, guitarist, composer, genius behind all the strange musical and philosophical concepts behind the songs/albums...the Frank Zappa of the band pretty much) has some sort of personal vendetta against the US so that might be why POS doesnt tour around here that much...if ever.

Dir en Grey is probably extremely popular in Japan (they are japanese after all) but around here (U.S.) they're pretty obscure. thats a cool song. "Obscure" by Dir en Grey, its the one that got me into them.

lol i was about to come in here and say Estradasphere, apparently they're gaining popularity :p: They're awesome, strangely i could never really get into Secret Chiefs 3 though.

Behold... The Arctopus and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are two more great bands.

Shaimus (http://www.shaimus.com) you might know one of their songs from Guitar Hero 1. A family friend plays in a few bands but I really like his one band called "Fluid Grove." He is a pretty good bassist.

hm... Well let's see. Perish and RememberUsAlways (two talented local bands. Perish is breaking up soon :'( ). Also, I don't mind Rock n Roll Soldiers. um... Monster Magnet. They're somewhat popular, but I don't really know anyone else (personally) who listens to them.

Black Sabath. no, Aswecrash most deff. we've played shows with them and im convinced they are gonna be stars. they have a myspace but the recordnings are really bad and dont have vocals because they have been gigging so much they dont have the money or time to record pro yet.

^I'm assuming you were kidding about Black Sabbath...and hoping...

I could probably name-drop a thousand bands that aren't very popular...But lately I've been getting into a lot of Machinae Supremacy. They're this electro rock band from Finland, and they're on the same label as Nightwish and Children of Bodom. They're pretty sweet.

The Dave Longfellow Ensemble from Morgantown, WV. It's a steel drum combo. Nothing hard rock about them, but they are absolutely phenomenal. Everyone who reads this should check them out. www.davelongfellowensemble.com

The best band I've heard know one knows of is Under Structure. They are still working with shit, and don't have a myspace.

Wide Open Throttle based outta Stratford, Ontario, I played with them short term while their drummer was unavailable and they are definately worth a peak. They are classic rock and play their own material as well as some covers.

On the subject of completely brilliant bands I am sure no one has heard of. I am addicted to this awesome band out of NC called Modena. I have never heard more well written music (well I mean I have but this is up there with the big dogs). The lead and rhythm guitar lines melt my face to the bone, and the drums remind of some balls to the wall tool stuff. I dunno dude these guys are about to smack the holy hell out of the music world. If you havnt heard of em do it. I think I heard em first on myspace, the address was like www.myspace.com/modenamusic . Prepare for a virtual eargasm. Anyway I seen this and nobody put them down so I was like ok, I will. Anyway sorry for the long winded comment.
