I have a Wesley LP Copy (MEG9212). But its a discontinued model, so i doubt it would be much help. Have a look anyway. I think they have something called a phoenix now.

Yeah, Gibson got owned by PRS. About time someone punched Gibson in the face in court. I would say Agile, but they aren't available in the Uk which sucks. Also good are the ESP and LTD LP's, the EC series. They are good for metal and rock.

PRS singlecuts are not LP copies
The best copies are (imo) tokai, greco, edwards, burny etc
The best LPs that are not gibson are Epiphone elite/elitist, epiphone japan and Orville

The best quality and most exact replica b/c of licensing agreements not being allowed to sell in the US is the Tokia Love Rock made in Korea.

Tokai (http://cgi.ebay.com/TOKAI-Love-Rock-Custom-Plus-Cherry-Sun-Guitar-NEW-2005_W0QQitemZ7374823681QQcategoryZ2384QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting)

I have to agree, I have played and Took apart Both the Tokai "love rock" and the Dillion Les Paul models, and they are extreamly well built, the electronics yes are shabby, but with a switchcraft jack, CTS pots and new Pickups they withh sound and Play as good as the real deal, and yes I know because I compaired to various Gibsons like my '75 Les Paul custom.

Cheers, Mitch

I say agiles can beat epi's up until the classic/standard models but the epi custom could beat agiles.

The 3500 with the Duncans completely owns the Custom. Possibly even the Elitist. Really Really.

The epiphone elitist OWNS the custom.

I still like ye olde Agiles though.

Agiles do look very nice, but I've never been able to play one (Damn England). The nicest I've played would be the Indie models. Very very good, especially for the price. With a pickup change I reckon they could go head to head with a Gibson. They sure beat the Epiphone Custom I tried.

The Burny looks real nice... can you get them in the UK?

If not where?

Anyone got comments on them?

Not true. The epi customs still have alder in their bodies but even the 15o dollar agiles have an all mahogany body.

Although they dont make em anymore,i would have to say Greco.I'd listened to all the hype and thought oh yeh heard it all before.Anyways i bought a 76 Greco LP on fleebay.
All i can say is WOW.Unbelievable build quality and sound for only 320.
I took my 78 Gibson Les Paul and my Greco to the luthier thinking he's gonna laugh me out of the shop.
He looks over the Gibson and tells me it needs a fret dress and set up.Next he opens the Greco case and tells me he's only ever seen one of these before. So far,so good.He says the intonation is miles out and i'd be better with 10 gauge strings but it will be an easy set up.
After playing the Gibbo and then the Greco he says i'd get rid of that, pointing to the Gibson, and keep the Greco.
I still have em both as i love Gibsons and now have another 3 Grecos in my collection.Fantastic guitars if you can get hold of one.

They were made in the same factory as Gibson i was told.

Ibanez made the best LP copy in the late 70's or early 80's. You can find them on E-bay once in a while. That's the LP copy I would buy without question.

Current production LP copies are probably all made at the same factory and may be essentially the same except for the name slapped on them and cosmetics.

Too many pages to sort through, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating, but my two faves are Tokai and ESP Edwards.

well there are Lp copies, such as ESP's but the arent true copies, there a modified copy. same thing applies to the PRS Singlecut. I would say Agile, since there cheap and specs are almost identical to Gibson's. But Epiphone Elitist's are said to be as good as a Gibson.

They are also (nearly) as expensive as Gibsons. :peace:

The Best 100% copies are Agiles and Edwards

The best LP shapes that aren't 100% copies: ESP Eclipse series.
