i'm currently obsessed with Cream right now. i seriously haven't listened to any other band (even the beatles) for the past week and a half. all of their songs are soo good from.... strange brew, politician, swlabr, tales of brave ulysses, spoonful, sweet wine, those were the days, outside woman blues, rollin and tumblin, and white room are just a few of the songs that are currently at the top of my top 25 songs played on my ipod.

so anyway.... what artist are you currently obsessed with?

VOIVOD.

I hate that I only discovered (Was pointed the're way from a friend) after they lost Piggy earlier this year. But regardless, ive learned a lot about my guitaring abilities from listening to Voivod.

Before Meshuggah, before Dillinger Escape Plan in FACT before -any- of the mathcore craziness that I am a fan of today, there was Voivod. I cant -not- respect all and everything they have done.

RIP Piggy.

Has anyone heard of the new(ish) band Winterville? Yeah, its a rubbish name, but they really rock! They mix the classic blues rock of Led Zep and Sabbath, with the heavier, sludgier grunge of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. The singer sounds just like Chris Cornell too, which is no bad thing. Anyways, been listening to them a lot recently.

Beatles/Pink Floyd/Bob Dylan

Although, this has been going on for months now ( with Pink Floyd, it's been a year and with Dylan, half a year. I just now started to appreciate The Beatles after seeing the Anthology DVD set), so it's not really current. These are the cream of the classic rock crop to me.

Really getting into The Who's back catalogue now as well as Roxy Music's debut album. Going back to Who, Can't Explain is such a great song. I was into the Clash before hand and thought "Wait a tick, that's almost the riff from Clash City Rockers!". heheh.

Also still loving U2, mostly live bootlegs since I saw them in Montreal. They blew the roof off the arena, and the crowd was as loud as the band all evening. Just came across a boot of the 2nd show in Montreal so I am still listneing to that.

Currently, (and I've always loved them) I'm infatuated by Def Leppard and Steve Clark. Steve is like my HERO. lol. &&I love DL's songs. Some people may say they turned into a wussy band but I'd like to see them go through the amount of crap they did and make one of the most popular hard rock albums in history. LoL. I just had to say that. But yeah they're amazing and I think I'm hooked.

Santana - finally got all of his frist three albums. Simply amazing. Listening to him just puts me in a good mood. I think it's because you can tell that he plays with so much emotion in each of his songs. Definately some feel-good music at its finest.

Roy Buchanan - I've got two albums of his - Guitar On Fire (Atlantic Sessions) and his Definitive Collection. The song 'Fly...Night Bird' is great. If you haven't heard it, check it out...it sounds eerily similar to Floyd. I've never heard any other artist that has sounded at all like Floyd.
