when playing a solo, how do u keep tempo? are you suposed to listen to the drummer? maybe other guitarsit? or just know the tempo.

cause i find it confusing to pla in thirds.

so please help.

Listen to the drummer, thats what everyone should be doing. The drummer keeps the strong beat going, hence why he's there. Your other guitarist could be all over the place.

what about when playing in thirds though, its really hard to play in thirds when the drummer isnt

I just play... I listen to everything on the stage.... and memorize how it should be

let the drummer play the verse part and make sure your solo has the same number of beats per measure in the verse. im not sure how to explain it, listen to paranoid by black sabbath and listen to the solo, the lead guitar will play a measure and at the end you'll hear the rhythm guitar go duh duh duh, cheek! and the lead will start a new measure. lmao if you get what im saying.

that works, but sevearly limits soloing potential
