Valentine's Day gig

View Full Version : Valentine's Day gig

Ok so we've got hold of a gig on valentines day in our school. We've never really played on V-day, but our band is totally ready..(?)..We don't know what songs to play!!

This is mainly because we've been playing at clubs all this time and nobody plays a love tune in a club. So,can you guys help me out by posting a few love songs that are for the generation.Oh,and also, let them be those where the lyrics can be heard easily.I mean, not much of screaming and growling and stuff like that.

We're ready with 5 songs already, could you guys tell me some more? We need to play around 12.

Thanks a ton!

I Can't Explain by The Who

The rhythm part is amazingly easy and the song is catchy!

How about "you and me" by life house?
and "wonderful tonight", "tears in heaven" by eric clapton?

I highly recommend 'Can't take my eyes off of you' or 'Nobody does it better', both are fun to play and can be either sensual or jovial...

...depending on what you are going for...

Metallica--"Nothing Else Matters". Chicks dig it and you won't jeopardize your sure about that? some band did it at our talent show and they terrible. let's just say my band won the contest, and all we did was jam for 7 minutes.

some stone temple pilots couldn't hurt, or some classic beatles tunes would work as well.

otherwise, you know the drill... keep it simple and don't ruin a classic!

Yes,I love nothing else matters and have nothing against it either, but its just that--

a)It's been played a billion times and its cliched already
b)We're doing a Valentine's day gig

Here is the list of songs we're ready with now,-

'Here without you-3 doors down'
'Always-Bon Jovi'
'Baby I love your way-Peter Frampton'
'Warmness on the Soul-Avenged Sevenfold'
'Until the day I die-Story of the year'
'Cant take my eyes off you-Muse (It's a darker version of the original)'
'Some kind of wonderful-GFR'
'Pretty Woman-Van Halen'

I'm thinking of Stone temple pilots, just going to decide which one its going to be.

Thanks for your help guys.I'm really looking forward to this concert because it's been a very long time since we did covers on stage and I hope we get some good response for this.
