One of my favorite bands. I wish was around to see them before before Rick lost his arm. But since they've been doing just fine since then, I'd be happy just to them live anyway.

def leppard is ok but they're far from my top 10, there pretty much just a generic 80's band.

Yeah, Def Leppard are okay! I've got their greatest hits cd and I admire their determination to succeed despite the tragedies that they've gone through over the years.

They're not exacly the most original band in the 80's but they're defenetly the best of that "80's stereo-type bands". I give 'em a few listens one in a while and they have mad determination.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Generic 80's band? ok, lets educate people on 80's metal...

Generic 80's band is Fast Way, Triumph, Bullet Boys, Faster Pussycat and L.A. Guns

Original 80's band is Motley Crue, Def Leppard, The Scorpions, Whitesnake and Ratt

There are low-brow versions of hair metal bands, but Def Leppard is NOT a "generic 80's band".

They are badass

I can see what you mean, but I would still say that Def Leppard is "hair metal".

I've never been to a concert. I'm not in to 80's rock/hair metal whatever label you want to give to it, but I'd imagine bands like them and Motley Crue giving a good show.

I just made this joke in the other thread, but...

What has nine arms and sucks?
Def Leppard!

I don't think they're terrible, but it's a funny joke.

... Scorpions was formed in 1964/1965. They don't quite quailfy as an "original 80's band" ;)

And self-made_page, that joke was far from funny. In fact, it was as far away from funny as possible.

Yeah I saw them a half a year ago. To be honest, I was into the Tea Party at the time and they opened for them and that's why I went, before that I'd only heard the Rock of Ages 2 disc-er once through, but I really liked the show. I'd probably go again now that I've heard the songs.

I don't like their music at all, but I think it's really cool that they kept their drummer even after losing his arm. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

def leppard is ok but they're far from my top 10, there pretty much just a generic 80's band.

they we're actually part of the "new-wave" of british heavy metal, along with the greats iron maiden, judas priest, motorhead etc. i dont know about you, but generic, they are not.

i saw the clip for 'pour some sugar on me', the drummer was wearing a metallica shirt, i thought, 'f*ckin A, that sh*t is kickass!'

I wouldn't call them hair metal... they were pretty different from the rest, because of their diverse sounds. They could write a big pop song... they could write great ballads, and then they could hit a sweet metal song or even an instrumental. Their first two albums are both untouchable, which is amazing for a band to have a follow up album just as good as the first.

Uh, no. In referring to an 80's band it is implying that the band started in the 80's. And I think the were biggest in the 60's/70's. And for god's sake, try looking at the keyboard as you type, or at least looking over you post before you submit. I almost needed a goddamn decoder to figure out what the hell you said.

Also, who the hell is "Wan Halen"?? the "W" and the "V" are nowhere near each other on the keyboard.

They came here last summer I think it was.. missed it 'cause I was in Nova Scotia. I was pissed
'cause I had tickets too. I went through a phase where I listened to "Love Bites" 24/7 and then I found out they made other songs as well. All good music. Love Def Leppard.

I would definetely see them with Journey, but Steve Perry won't be there and it just wouldn't be right to see Journey without Steve.
