The Mars Volta is a really under-recognized band. They are genius.
Check out their latest album "Frances the Mute"

I saw Mars volta live. They were the opening to a system of a down concert that i went to. Mars volta really sucked. But, i've only heard them live, so i can't tell if they had some iddues live or if they are just not talented.

I just saw Drive-By Truckers and Robert Randolph and the Family Band at the Black Crowes show in Auburn, Washington. I was extremely impressed. Randolph reminds me a bit of Ben Harper and the Truckers are a legitimate southern rock geniuses. It's too bad contemporary southern rock never get any radio play. Kings of Leon and American Minor are great too.

I knew about Nazereth but had only heard a couple of their slower songs like "love hurts". I found an old record of theirs in are collection called 'Snaz It (it's a live album). I put it on thinkin I was gunna here like Boston or some cheery music. First track on the record is called "Telegram" the lead singer just SCREAMS into the mic its like AC/DC, it sounds AMAZING. I've become hooked to the record ever since I'm lookin for some of their cds.
