so i wrote this intro and then potential verse riff....very easy...but perhaps still worthy of adding more to? What you think? Suggestions on where to take it further? also...could anyone tell me what key its written in? May be helpful so as to write chords for a chorus part or something later....

Looks too me like it's in F#. I don't have my guitar with me, so I could be wrong.

I don't know what to tell you buddy. For an intro the first riff is fine... just a little bland, try to add some fills or something if you plan on playing it more than the once. The second "verse" riff sounds nice enough... but... well... to be honest I never bought too much into that thing of "simple is always better". Although there ARE plenty of simple but tastefull and trully beautiful songs out there.

At what tempo are you playing this?

its being played at somewhat of a quicker tempo maybe like 125bpm.

the tab doesn't really show it but in the intro, the first three notes are eigth notes and the fourth note is held for the remaining 2.5 beats.

if you know the song "sunday" by sonic youth, something along those lines.
