This duo/ trio/ foursome (Everywhere I look on the internet it changes) are very unknown, and I've not seen anyone mention them on UG. Well, they're a mix of many genres and sound quite original. They're a garagey, rocky, bluesy, alternative kind of band. And i like them. The White Stripes sometimes do a cover of one of their songs live- 'Going back to memphis'
They're had a few albums, and another one is coming out next week! I think I'll buy it. And they're also touring- (See here: http://www.makeascene.net/band/soledadbrothers )
My favourite songs are Going Back to Memphis, This guitar says I'm sorry (excellent classical guitar piece), St. Ides of March (Which White Stripes have covered), Teenage Heartattack, and Gospel According to John.

I'll put up some websites about them for you to browse or listen too. But the songs I've found on the internet aren't the greatest I've heard by them, but they're still enjoyable. :)

That should do. Enjoy.

Oh, and I was considering putting this in Modern Rock, but I thought... nah, the indie/ alt guys might prefer them more. :)

Edit: And also 'Rock me slow' is an excellent song.'

They never had a lesson and only made one 45, I got that from UBL too.

Is 'Memphis' the one with the REALLY cool solo? I can't be assed watching the DVD right now to find out.

It might be. I've not seen the DVD for a while, so I don't know. I doubt it's the same as the Soledad Brothers version as Jack always adds his own twists and solos to everything.

I've been meaning to find out about them after hearing Jack White cover their songs but kept forgetting.
From the tracks on those links they seem like a good band, thanks for that Dex.

Actually, thinking about it I think it's Dark Sunglasses I'm thinking of.

I saw them last night at Mercury Lounge in the East Village. If anyone that's reading this thread lives around NYC, you can see them tonight too. THey kicked ass, and they did a really good 15 minute jam out free for all at the end of their set. Yeah, they're pretty cool. A fun band with a sound that's easy to get into.
