I hate the cover of Black Betty thats floating around on the radio, so stupid. The reason it was a good song is because of the time period and the actual band singing it and the way it sounded. You can't just pick up the song and play it a little different or else its just crap.

I once saw a local West Point, Nebraska band called Story's End try to do a cover of Finch - Letters to You. The kind of vocals were the opposite the the frontman's strengths and, well, it kinda blew. Okay, it completely blew. But, I still show my support, 'cause they can do a mean Story of the Year cover.

i was wondering who that was. heard it on the radio yesterday, wow.. how could anyone destroy such a beatiful song that badly? (did they actually think it was good? or was it just a diss to Lennon? if it wasn't a diss, wow they really suck)

Still im sick.I did read Fred Durst is a big fan,you wouldnt know that based on his music.Still i wont scorn my ears with that trash.
Ha. Yeah, i also once read that Durst is a big fan of both Tool and NIN. I remember him saying that MJK and Reznor were two of his idols and that he enormous respect for them both.

Funny thing is that I've seen interviews with MJK and Reznor in which they both disregard Durst and pretty much insult the guy. Then there was that whole big dumbass feud between trent and fred though so i'm assuming reznor is no longer considered an 'idol' for durst.

Revolver: Tool's live shows are a unique sensory experience.
What do you think it is that sets them apart from other live
acts?

Maynard James Keenan: We are totally at odds with the
current musical climate. Do you really think people are
impressed by Nickelback? Or Limp Dicksh!t? How could you
be impressed by Fred Durst? When they come to see
something that has more substance, it is a moving
experience -- there's more heart. There is intent. Going to
see Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, or Rage Against the Machine,
there is heart. It breathes. You have to be affected by that.

Yeah I've heard both Avril Lavigne's "Fuel" and "Chop Suey" covers. Oh dear God they're bad. Stick to pop-rock like you're used to, don't sully the good name of Metallica!

There was some video on YouTube of some band doing the WORST version of Europe's "The Final Countdown" I've ever heard.

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP59OzOgQVA
