I saw a thread like this in the pit a couple weeks ago and I thought it was a good idead so i decided to make one here for Classic Rock collections. Here's some pics of my stuff:

Wow...I have all the Beatles albums and for Led Zeppelin I have Physical Graffiti, How the West Was Won, Zoso, and Houses of the Holy. I also have Dark Side of the Moon. That's my classic rock collection. I want more, but I'm poor so I can't exactly get them as fast as I want.

Twenty minutes out of my productive life (sarcastic :D )

KingBrendan5149
03-26-2006, 10:13 PM
^ a LOT. probably in the 1,500-2,000 dollar range i'm guessing but not entirely sure. i've been collecting for a while now so the money i've spent per year isn't too bad.

lots of them were gifts too.

I have a reaally good classic rock collection, but all of them came from my uncle and I take them places, so they're in case, and that's not an interesting pic. But I have all kinds of stuff from Elvis, tot he Beatles, to Alice Cooper, to Ted Nugent , to stuff from the 90's to today, so I'm pretty decked out.

I'd take a picture of my whole music collection but I can't be assed going through everything pulling them out like you've done, I'd think there'd only be about 50 at the most anyway.

Ok, here's some links to pictures (they're big) of the majority of my collection (not specifically classic rock - I'll try and sort that out if I have the time)...

I don't want to post any pictures, but the collection my dad has of CDs are unbelievable. He had about 800 Classic Rock CDs plus about 3000-4000 Jazz, Classical, Blues, etc. CDs.

It's awesome. People are astonished at his collection, but my mom thinks it's a disease, lol. I'm inspired to have a collection as good as his when I'm older.

And thank you, its taken its time, going to have a rest (and get back in the green) when I've reached 1,500 bits and bobs.

6000+ Vinyl.
1200+ CDs.
140+ Tapes.
12342 Songs In Playlist.

That's my collection. I got all the vinyl and CDs at yardsales, especially this one where this guy had like 2000+ selling for 300 bucks. I took a look at like fifty then ran back and scrounged up the money. Like, 120 of the CDs are burned off of other ones my friends lent me though.

Out of the choices I'd put:

1. The Beatles
2. The Rolling Stones
3. Pink Floyd
4. Zeppelin
5. Radiohead

the fact that radiohead would even be in the top 5 is enough, so their positioning in my opinion is irrelevant. That's your opinion, I respect AND disagree and this is my opinion.

My entire CD collections is about 80 albums in real life (I've a lot got more on my harddrive). This is the classic rock stuff I could pick out of it for now:

I know I've got Led Zeppelin - Prescence somewhere, as well the Rolling Stones - Forty Licks, some Santana compilation and possibly some other things (edit: The Velvet Underground - Loaded and some Hendrix stuff too)
I know I'm missing the 4th Zeppelin album so I could complete that top line (I've only found it in a store once and I didn't have the money :p: )

^Hahahaha, yeah that one weirded me out a bit too. It's Jan Akkerman, the guitarist from Focus. He is quite good. In 1973 he was picked Best Guitarist in The World by the readers of the UK magazine Melody Maker

that's 1974

I wanna see more peoples' collections!

Mine isn't all that big, and I've only really been collecting vinyls since about June this year, so that explains the lack thereof.

Eagles Collection
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/Calum/PICT2605.jpg

Eagles Live, in pretty much mint condition apart from the cover (bit worn round the corners and a little on the edges. Inside though, its in great condition and as are the discs, sleeves and the poster.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/Calum/PICT2607.jpg

Hotel California, in pretty much the same great condition, along with two posters that are in mint condition. I dunno if it?s supposed to have two, but it came with two anyway. In fact, all my Eagles LPs are in great condition apart from Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 which plays fine, but the cover is tatty (for 50p I can?t really ask much :p:)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/Calum/PICT2609.jpg

That?s pretty much it at the moment, and I?d also like to say that ALL the vinyls have been sourced from charity shops and car boot sales. Ranging from 20p (Rumours - Fleetwood Mac) to £6 each (Eagles Live, Desperado, The Long Run - All Eagles). Got a big bundle deal on a lot of singles too from a guy at a car boot sale, which probably worked out at less than 20p each, but I can?t remember how many I got off him.
